I'm in the staging lane waiting for the drag cars to finish. I have a 6MT 328i, how do I turn off traction control to get a little wheel spin for a good launch??

The yellow icon with the two squiggly lines will come on. You are go to go, no pun intended.

pressing DSC button turns it off halfway. (some slip, but traction control will still kick in)

holding it down for about 5 seconds will turn it off fully.

That also turns of stability control, not a good plan on a strip with walls & a new driver. His car does not have a whole lot of torque but its still a RWD.

Not a new driver but I get your point.

Best run of 7 where I was able to balance wheel spin with forward progress. Ideal conditions too - 72 degrees with low humidity.

My bad, Sorry. Though you were new because of the question. Some day I will learn to just answer the question. Very nice run. Looks similar to Terrys when he was first testing the JB4 on the 328. Notice you are in NC what track did you run at.

Also there is an Auto-X coming up in Cary next month. A number of 1,3 & 4 series ran at last years.

I haven't done an autocross in probably 15 years but I do 2-3 track weekends at VIR a year.

Went with the BMWCCA Tar Heel Chapter a few times. Our COBRA group also does some of the charity events & a twice annual Tail of the Dragon weekend in early spring & late fall.

A last years Cary event was like déjà vu all over again. Saw the exact twin of my old 335is right down to the color & equipment.

I'm actually going with the BMW cca Tar Heel guys to the track event at VIR next weekend.

I left that behind when I took the rest of the equipment off.
