What's the stupidest thing you've done while driving your F3x?

I did something really stupid today while driving my F30 and I just have to share and laugh at myself a bit. It got me thinking. I'll bet other forum members might want to get some of their stupid moves off their chest.

I'll go first....

So, I just got new brakes and rotors on the front. After reading this forum and other sources, I thought it would be a good idea to bed the brakes properly. You know, 40mph to 10mph 5 times to warm them up and then 60mph to 10 mph 5 times. I find a nice road with no traffic and begin my bedding procedure. All went well. I thought I heard a noise in my trunk but thought nothing of it. But then I remembered: Yesterday I went to Costco and bought a bunch of wine for a party I'm having this weekend. I had two 12-bottle cases opened on the top because I was mixing it up a bit. The sound I heard was one of the cases flipping over and all 12 wine bottles taking flight. How stupid is that. I always clear out my trunk when I get home from the store. This one time I forget and then, at the same time, decide its a good idea to bed my brakes. This stupid story has happy ending. I had a blanket and a jacket behind the cases and the wine bottles landed softly and none of them broke. I'm feeling stupid and lucky at the same time. It felt good to get this off my chest. Thanks for listening!

Anyone else feel like sharing?

Hit the curb on the turn. Was blinded by the sun on the turn...

Result: big bubble on the RFT. $250.

Damn near completely lost it on a sharp curve taking it at four times the max speed. I knew better too but was in "that mood".

Second week in, I went to pass an Indian in a Prius but due to my impatience AND his stupidity, I was sideswiped pretty badly to the tune of 8500 I almost made it too...pic here if you dare - https://1drv.ms/i/s!AkHKmnTUFIO1gsd7LLpGotT3F0GfGA

I've done that with every single car I've owned except this one knock on wood. That feeling sucks, hope you can buff them out.

Scratched the front bumper pulling into the parking garage at work. It's admittedly a tight fit and not a great design, as I'm not the only one to do it, but yeah...

You can see the result on the bottom right of this pic. It only got the xpel film and not the paint finish, so there's that at least:

Accidentally swiping the side wall of my garage while makin a U turn in my back yard. Wasn't used to how wide the car is compared to my old one.

By any chance did you have traction control off while making this "U turn".

Took a turn in a parking garage and scrapped the front left side bumper paint completely off. It was literally like I took a razor and shaved off just the paint. Had a patch about the size of my palm. Dumb move.

I have been careful with that, try to break the ice with the palm of your hand, gentle presses. Also start the engine and run the AC for 15/20 minutes so the ice starts detaching from the car.

After a heavy ice rain, almost took 45 minutes to clean. Almost felt like I was performing brain surgery. I insist on not using any tool except my hands

Hit a wall in a parking garage and dented front bumper, passenger side. After getting it fixed, that day turned out to be the most expensive trip to a theme park ever.

Pushed the throttle a bit too hard and tranny kicked down, immediately hit rev limiter ... with about 75 miles on the odometer. Uff-da!

Forgot to pull the parking brake in my garage, came back out and the car was up against the garage door

Luckily no dents, just a very small scratch. Couldn't help but think about what could have happened if the garage door wasn't closed though... Lesson learned, always pull brake and leave it in first.

LOL. Bingo. I turned DTC off..made a right turn and punched it. As expected, the car went slideways real quick. Got closer to a car in the left turn lane than I wanted/expected but nervously laughed inside as I straightened it out. Yep, pushed that button back to the 'on' position soon after. These cars need drivers with brains and LSD..........peg legs suck.

I just take it easy the first 500 miles on new brakes. Wonder if there's a benefit to the process you're doing?
