M2 Pe Vs C43 Amg Coupe

Hey guys! I'm new to the forums but have always been a lurker here, great forums great people! I'd love to hear your guys opinion as I'm in a bit of a dilemma. SO i pre ordered and put a deposit on the M2 Performance edition MSRP about 62.5K Manual, Supposed to be here mid april but im having second thoughts due to me paying more and getting less? If that makes sense. So i've been up and down youtube and forums just reading up on the M2's performance handling and its obviously amazing but my question to you guys is, Would you purchase a C43 AMG over a M2 PE? Thoughts on the M2 PE and your personal experiences with the C43 AMG.

(I do love the interior and back end of the AMG way more then the M2) Haven't test drove one yet.

More highway driving Benz, otherwise M2. Two completely different things. M2 you'll lose less in depreciation but don't count on a huge premium for the PE.

You think i should wait it out for a regular M2 or just go with the PE? Probably lease a less expensive toy till my name is called?

What is a "M2 performance edition"? How does this differ from a "regular M2"?

Please provide links.

I test drove the C43 AMG before I got my M4 and they are pretty good cars.
AWD helps with traction off the line and way better exhaust note compare to M cars but M will be faster and more fun to drive.

I wont be discontinuing the M2 All together just thinking if this could be a good second option, as i haven't seen one in person yet so if im not in love at first sight may have to just pass it up, as white isn't my preferred color either.

I don't think the PE is worth it. It just strips out some comfort features and adds a few cosmetic items for a much larger price tag.

If there was an performance increase, it may be worth it. Not worth it for $10k+ over the regular M2.

Yeah thats my biggest issue now, either take this M2 in a few weeks or pass on the M2 all together, no way will i wait a whole year on a list with no car. May have to be between the M4 and the C43 at this point.

I have a friend with an Alpine White M2. She had the M stripes put on the side and it looks awesome!

Yeah but I doubt it has all the other upgrades that make a true AMG car. The M2, on the other hand, is a full on ///M car.

Have you driven both? Both cars are super sexy, Merc's interior wins and it's not even close. Bummer you can only get drab black interior in the Bimmer.

It's not as hard core as the 63 for a variety of reasons. But that can also be preferable for a variety of reasons.

If you really want the smart money play and can do 4 doors the leftover 450 is super cheap and basically the exact same thing, if there are still any floating around. Were last time I checked but that was a while ago.

But the c43 has the 9g transmission and the c63 does not lol.

C43 is the m240i of Mercedes - but Mercedes gave the c43 more AMG treatment than the m240i with M from BMW.

The exhaust is awesome on the C43 much better than m2,m3/3 m240 etc.

Both are great cars. I ended up with the m240i bc I was leasing and wanted a 3rd pedal. M2 lease was ridiculous terms.

C43 had nicer wheels, nicer seats, 4matic ,more power, and litte more luxury on the inside.

C43 is horrendous for their Navi system, no carplay, crappy sound, higher MF and the car weighs more.

Feels like I'm making a huge mistake on this PE at 62.5K! Just got a call from a local dealer saying they'll have allocations in June.. Really debating Weber this PE is the right move at this point but I doubt I'll stay careless until possibly August when they arrive stateside... Decisions Decisions

No. It does not have a hand built engine with signature like every other real AMG model has (including the C/GLA45), and is just a different name for last year's 450 AMG Sport (or something like that).

The performance edition negates what makes the M2 so desirable, adding $10k to a $52k base price with no discernible benefits.

C43 is a 440i with MPPSK competitor.

I'd pass on both cars and look at other alternatives.

The C43 AMG is to the Audi S4 what the C63 AMG is to the Audi RS4.

BMW doesn't really have a competitor with a bespoke name like that but I guess a 340i/440i with M performance and sound kit is about the same thing.

340 and 440 with mppk aren't matekrt as such.

Well. The M240i is a lot smaller than the C43. Not a direct competitor. Despite the fake badge...

ps. LOL

That's true. It was weird negotiating between the Mercedes and BMW. When I told the merc folks it was between the c43 and m240, they raised an eyebrow.

But the thing is, performance wise, they are in the same class.

440 performance doesn't stack up with the c43.

I really think Mercedes made a killer of a car in a segment that didn't exist with the c43.

If BmW made a m440, and priced it in the 60k range, I might've been driving that.
