Mirror cover not clicked in fully
Installed carbon fiber mirror covers last night, I checked the behind of the aftermarket mirror cover and it looked exactly like the BMW ones. I tried installing twice but the driver side one has a gap on the side closest to the door, when I push that side in it squeaks but it doesn't fully clip in. I already removed it and tried installing again but same issue. It looks fine but when you push it, it squeaks and tries To go on. Also compared to the passenger side one, the gap is noticeable and the mirror doesn't seem like it's fully clicked in. The passenger one however fits perfectly and has 0 gaps and fits like oem. Any tips?

I had the same issue when I was installing my aftermarket set. It held up for around 2 years before the side that wasnt fully clicked in doesnt fit at all. What I would suggest is heating up the mirror with heat (I used a hair dryer) and to force it in. I was able to "reshape" the mirror. Then hold its shape for a night with some tape or something and cross your fingers that it holds! By going aftermarket we kind of have to expect slight fitment issues based on luck

Makes sense so are we basically trying to melt the plastic inside? Does that mean one the clips aren't hitting the right spot? It must mean my aftermarket piece has the defect since the original fits fine
