ZL1 (6th gen) vs. M2.
There's currently dealers who are selling the ZL1 under sticker and nicely equipped for $54k which puts it on par with the M2's "standard" price. Forgetting the interior comparison and stereotypical prerequisite to wear a gold chain and don a mullet, how could you not give the ZL1 a performance look?
I'm strongly considering one while waiting for the M2 CS to arrive. Thoughts? Last edited by TunedM2C; 03-05-2017 at 08:49 PM.. |

Too much power (yes that is possible) and too big for me. The SS 1LE does intrigue me but still don't like the size.

The only major complaint I've seen are some ZL1 owners disappointed there's a ZL1 1LE coming out later in the year. |

i had a base camero as a rental when my m2 was rear ended and in the shop for two weeks. wife and i hated how we fit in it. windows were small, sight lines sucked, body felt way too big -and the small windows pronounced that. always felt difficult to judge where the corners of the car were. couldn't sit as low in the car because i couldn't see out, and raising the seats even slightly had us banging our heads on the car upon entry. if you're under 6' tall, don't bother. the stock seats feel like they're made for taller and wider people, so i never felt comfortable driving it. I'm 5'5" medium build. you may want to rent the car to see if you can live with one day to day.
i do like the android auto and Chevy's touch screen infotainment system though. and even in base trim, the chassis felt decent. no knocks or rattles and overall seemed well built. the weird thing was the more that i drove it, the more i noticed how many cameros are on the road lol |

Dollar for dollar, the ZL1 is the better buy. That said, it's too big and heavy for me. I don't care how fast or track capable it is.

So in that commercial, they never put in the 0-60 or top speed...christ.
ALSO!!! Car and driver said it will do 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. Zo6 is 2.9!!! What are ALL OF YOU smoking? |

"When it comes to speeding up from a standing start, it’s safe to that the 1LE is at least a tenth-second quicker than the standard ZL1, so expect a 0-to-60 spint of 3.4 seconds and a quarter mile time of 11.3 seconds at almost 130 mph."

Nobody cares about 0-60, we are talking about around a race track. That is the whole point of this car.

That is some amazing performance for the money, certainly worth a look IMO. Surprised to find them being discounted already, resale could end up sucking when that time comes.

The performance on a road circuit is undeniable. But the visibility blows.
I like light, airy, bubble canopies. The C6 is a marginal improvement.

Must be those on-ramps in PR that dominate the driving scene.

I test drove a 2SS last weekend, car was a blast. Obviously the sight line especially out the back sucks but when you get past that it's an awesome car for 40k. Couldn't imagine the ZL1..

I was very much sold on getting a new Camaro 1LE when they were announced. While waiting for them to get release, last summer, I drove a few regular SS's but everytime I came to the same conclusion. Just couldn't get over the visibility out of them. Chevy did such an awesome job with the car, in and out but like others have stated the visibility just sucked. It just totally ruins the driving experience, the environment your sitting in and so on. Great car on paper though, same as the ZL1 but its going to have the same issue so not worth it no matter how good it is. Glad I drove one first, that's for sure! Also glad I can across the M2, its a better fit for my needs anyway.
