CF Roof
I know it is all speculative at this point to see what will be included in M2 LCI, but what are you guys opinion on M2 having Comp pack like M3 and M4 to give it CF roof and bigger wheels????

I'm coming out of a convertible M3. I'm really going to miss the open air. A sunroof would have helped that out a LOT. CF would be a nice option but if I had my choice I'd take the sunroof. Those were options on the E9x M3s.

It's a complete roof replacement. The roof itself was around $1300. Install prices will vary from shop to shop.
Here are more pics from the shop i got it from: |

That looks amazing,it really suits the design of the M2.I would have paid more for my M2,to get a CF roof from the factory.Hopefully BMW will include the carbon fiber roof on the M2 CS.

Thank you so much! I might go aftermarket route if LCI doesn't give us comp pack option for sure after looking at your beautiful M2!!

The M2 is built to a very specific cost point so the idea that they would go with a carbon roof is hard for me to imagine. Maybe in the CS but I doubt we will see one in the regular model or that they will do a CS and a competition package option. The car is selling really well but its not a high volume model so any engineering costs, production change costs etc have to be picked up by a pretty small number of cars. Also the M2 is built in a factory that is pretty stressed because they build many models on that line at a high volume, I doubt that BMW wants to add more challenges to that line.

How much did it cost you for the install? Thinking about doing this but wanted to get a baseline of install cost.

I like the roof but I wonder what happens in case of a crash if the insurance company finds out you exchanged the roof of the car?
Ah, the lovely laws you get for being a member of EU. |

Fin and rails were painted black while the roof was off. Forgot exactly how much install was, but it was more than $1k with the paint and labour. I wouldn't trust myself to do it and went with the pros. No leaks and fitment is like OEM quality.

Looks great and fit and finish look spot on. Would like to see some pics of the work being done, I presume the the roof had to be cut off?
