minor crack paint crack

Hi Guys,

had an unfortunate situation happen about 2 weeks ago. My front bumper has a slight crack above the grill and the paint has chipped off. As winter is approaching my worry is that it may rust or get worse. Should I get the exposed area fixed before winter starts or am I fine to leave it till Spring

It's really hard to tell the severity since the car is so dirty.

Did you buy the car used? That looks like it could be clear film peeling up

Don't think there's anything to rust since the bumper is plastic...

Here is a better pic, there is also a slight crack to the right and left of the emblem. And yeah it has 16000km when I got it. A little bit of the paint definitely came off as there is a crack. Just worried about taking it through car washes in the winter as well, as the water pressure might take off more paint..

Anytime you see exposed metal means you need to paint it asap otherwise rust will start. once Rust start it is pretty hard to stop it since the metal becomes porous.

Touch up paint to "seal" the edges, may make you feel better....but ultimately, you're looking at a new bumper

If it were me I'd have the bumper repainted an put clearfilm on it. This looks like the bumper was repainted due to a fender bender or other reason. Factory paint doesn't chip like that.

Ugh the place I got a quote from said the same thing that the bumper was damaged...dealer didn't mention anything and there was nothing on the car proof

Is this your 428i? If so, that picture you've shared looks like it's right above the passenger side kidney grille... if so, you have nothing to worry about because it won't rust; that area is all plastic...
