Difference between N47 and N47T engines?

Hey guys

I'm about to pick up my first BMW. I plugged in my VIN into a VIN decoder website and it says that my engine in my car is a N47T.

I searched all of google and every BMW forum and there's no information about it anywhere.

I've seen posts mention N47D, but no info about N47T.

Does anyone know what the difference is between N47 and N47T?

No difference same engine.

N47T is short for N47TU which is Technical Update. That's not the official BMW engine AG reference which is N47D20O1.

It's an update as mentioned above - it reduced some problems plagued by thousands of N47s - mostly timing chain malfunction/damage.
