340i/440i mppk owners and additional mods

Does anyone have an aftermarket intake and/or catless downpipe with this setup? If so how is the compatibility and drivability? Want to do the BMS intake but worried about messing with the smoothness of this flash from the power kit. Also interested in ER Downpipe perhaps down the road. Thoughts?

I would wait for more intake options to be released and then select from the best but that's just me.

I wouldn't get the DP only because I do not want to put on a jb4 to clear the CEL - that's just me.

Good luck on your modding!

I was wondering the same thing and I was seriously considering a ceramic coated dp with hi-flow cats but I don't want the chance of a cel. Also it will make the power kit exhaust much louder and I like the sound and volume it has now so probably not going to do it. I'm still waiting on more intake options and I'm wondering what's taking so long. B58 has been out for awhile now.

They will come, you must realize that most cars/new engines take a year or 2 for products to be released and it probably has more to do with the fact that 340is are a hot commodity right now so it's hard to get ahold of for dev.

I'm sure AFE, dinan and others will be out soon

mppsk + bms intake + jb4 (albeit on map 4 for now - to log and get feedback from burger)

only a few days into it .. but so far noise + gains over stock is noticeable and smooth. Once burger come back with recommendations on a map to compliment mppsk then I'll hopefully get a tad more out if this B58.

No CELs so far.

Cool! Let us know how it goes. Any plans to dyno? I plan to do the same thing but I'm going to wait to see if there are going to be any other piggyback/intake options.

Did you happen to log maximum boost pressure before and after you installed mppsk with JB4 set to Stock levels?

B58+mppk Power is already more than a F3X can handle.

I would focus on smoothness of power delivery & responsiveness when considering any engine mods.

Does it really make sense that BMW is releasing something the platform can't handle?

Do you know your current boost levels with the kit with map set to stock ? Mine runs 15 psi stock.

Yea I have the BMS intake just sitting in the box. Might as well try it. Just worried about CEL. Also does anyone know if the cel comes on and I take off the bms intake and go back to stock is it guaranteed that cel will disappear or could it still stay?

The intake shouldn't generate a cel.

I've noticed the pops take about a minute to kick in after driving. Then it's there whenever you lift off abruptly from the gas pedal. It's pretty fun. Anybody know what race fuel would do to this thing for power and sound ?

In my opinion, 340 + MPPSK requires LSD. Probably do this next year after winter as an early birthday present :-)

Description

Genuine BMW F30 LCI 340i M Performance Limited Slip Differential - Auto Trans. The mechanical Limited Slip Differential provides the extra performance advantage that true performance drivers desire. This differential utilizes 3 clutch plates for a total of 30% lockup on acceleration and 9% lockup on deceleration. Product Highlights/Benefits:
•Full replacement differential, no modification of existing differential necessary
•30% lockup on acceleration, 9% on deceleration, developed specifically for the F2x and F3x chassis for optimal traction and smooth locking and unlocking characteristics
•Integrates seamlessly with the vehicles' DSC system, no coding necessary
•Better traction in inclement weather
•Superior warranty coverage: 4 year/50K miles when purchased with a new vehicle; Or 2 years or the balance of the new vehicle warranty, whichever is greater

I wonder how much this would improve a 340i xdrive with mppk on the 0-60 time.
If it's another .02 secs then that's not bad at all.

Biggest improvement I noticed from my short time with m235i with LSD was the slingshot feeling out of a corner. Sticky tires and mechanical LSD was magic. Traction control almost never came on during spirited street driving.

I'm very interested in an LSD down the road, and that description sounds amazing! I'll say this, for my taste the B58 + MPPSK is enough to make the soft xDrive suspension feel a little squirrely at times. I really gunned it through a section of curves this weekend and the suspension seemed to be having trouble keeping up with the car.
