Car and Driver Lightning lap (M2 and others)

Enjoy the read. And yes, the M2 beats the Focus RS...

2 seconds a lap faster than the Focus RS in such a demanding track and 0.1 second off the 911 GT3, an impressive showing for the M2!

Well, the 2007 version yes.

The M2 is faster than my 981S by a .7 second, and the track is where the Cayman shines, so nice effort for the M2 - I wonder how the 718S will fare in this test next year?

07 gt3 came with crap cup 1 tires. Put some modern tires on a .1 gt3 and m2 won't be in the same zip code. The real performance is very close to the gt4 which is 8 seconds a lap faster.

As I already said in some other post, it's just a shame they didn't test it with dct which would've been some 2-3s faster a lap on a circuit like VIR which is very much about accelerating on long straights.

The M2:

" If it turns round and bites you,you probably deserve to be bitten "

Sort of sums it up
