N20 Engine Replacement

So my N20 328i is getting its engine replaced under warranty on account of it was burning excessive oil... I will post whatever was the exact cause of this when I get the paperwork after I pick the car back up..

*UPDATE* Engine has arrived at dealer August 10th

Hi! How much is considered "excessive consumption"?

Good luck with the new engine...

So they replaced it after the original warranty lapsed or was it a CPO or extended warranty?

Good luck with the new engine.

Putting in a whole new engine into a CPO BMW shows that their extended warranties ARE WORTH IT, and that really adds value to the whole brand in general.

I have to agree - very impressive. I had an E36 318i which developed a bad head gasket out of warranty and BMW replaced it anyway as a good will gesture. Never forgot that and have owned several since.

Hope everything works out well with the replacement!

My S/A Is pretty cool with modifications.. Technically just the tune alone would void the warranty. But in order for a problem to not be covered under warranty, they have to prove that the modification you did caused the problem.
