Tow Hook Straps

I've been looking around for tow hook straps and can't seem to find any that say they'll work on our cars?

I found a set on iND's website, and sent an inquiry email and was told:
"The tow strap can be made to work, as the thread pitch and depth of the anchor is similar to that of the F8X chassis. However, the limiting factor is in the bumper cover. The part of the tow strap that holds the strap webbing is wider than the tow cover hole in the front bumper cover, resulting in potential damage being done to the front bumper during installation. You would also not be able to run a tow cover if installed, due to the strap also being wider than it. "

So to me it seems that the end of the metal piece is wider than the diameter of the tow hook cover hole, as well as the strap itself is wider than the hole too.

Does anyone know if this is actually true? I tried looking up some P/N's on realoem and found that the M3/4 use a different part number for their tow hooks than we do on our M235i's (maybe 228i too, haven't looked)

Any recommendations/advice would be appreciated!

I too need tow hooks and am finding it difficult. The silver one is from the trunk of my BMW M235i and has very coarse threads. The red one is for my C7 Corvette. Anyone know where to find tow hooks that fit M235i / M240i / 228i / 230i?

Many moons ago I attempted to do the IND tow cover and Fall line motorsport strap, I think I was the first person to try idk , Strap works no problem but the bumper support is much closer to the cover on our cars then F8x so their is the problem still tried cause I like learning from my mistakes

No its dosen't burn the paint.

I only run them while on track.
The rear one folds up and tucks behind the cover.
Front i take my plate off and screw on at race day.

Dude you cut that strap way to short, if you ever need to use it, the hook from tow vehicle is going to bang off your bumper.

Thanks, that was a concern for using the straps. Good to know they don't screw up the bumper. It's been more than a decade, but I can still feel the hit from running into a solid metal one with my shin, and not anxious to repeat it (one of those nice big loops that look cool, until you nearly amputate yourself on them).

Just don't be the guy who goes to one track day in beginner class and rocks the number stickers and tow hooks for 8 months after.
