340i Mode RPM Shift Points
I see shift points being arbitraily dicussed but cant find any tables on what the RPM shift points are for each of the MODES.
Can someone elucidate or point me in the right direction if its already been listed .. I cant find it via search. Thanks in advance. |

I can go over my shift points for each of the modes...
ECO -- shift at about 1500 RPM. comfort -- shift at about 2000 RPM. sport -- shift at about 2500 RPM. sport+ -- shift at about 6500 RPM, or if i'm slow, when it bounces off the rev-limiter. sometimes i can override my left foot's shift points but not often.... i'm married. |

Caveat I drive normally in Sport.
There are a number of sets in each mode. Under normal acceleration when it will shift up & where it will shift down as the car slows. In general sense each mode "higher" from econ to sport+ raises the point at witch the car will either shift up or down on its own. Never bothered to look at the exact speeds but IIRC about 55mph my car will not shift into 7th or 8th in sport. It may go to 7th in comfort You can check it out for yourself knowing what to look for. Just pick a mode drive normally & see where it shifts up/down. Then change mode & repeat. I do know that I always drop to comfort on high speed runs to reach 8th. At near 80mph in sport my car will not reach 8th gear. Its more than likely different engine packages have different shift logic. Throttle position also looks to add a variable to the exact RPM of the shift

Yeah, there are definitely 3 factors at play when the car determines shift points: current throttle input and RPM, which then get handed over to the adaptive transmission logic.
