QUOTE: "Thanks to my incredibly talented and generous photographer friend, Webb Bland, I was given the opportunity to spend the day with Top Gear magazine, carving roads in the all new BMW M2 and Ford Mustang GT350R - both of which were unreleased at that time. The following is my very candid, grammatically flawed recollection of that memorable weekend."

Good review! Simple and with some different takes but not too flowery (like some reviewers). I liked the way you described the differences with the GT350R. Was a bit jealous though, since I haven't even seen an M2 IRL yet.
Any chance the launch control was still disabled? You said it only had 10 mi on the odometer. I assume they enable it for press cars despite the low mileage, but maybe they forgot on this one. |

Thanks for sharing. I like the last picture best
About BMW NA being so stu...intelligent providing a test M2 which wasn't able to put all the electronic nannies off: Thank you! We don't want Rachel ending up in a hospital or worse do we? [/malechauvinistpig] Cheers Robin |

How is the GT350 steering compared to the M2 in terms of feel and precision? Would you say comparable, good, bad, or not as good?
I had a Fiesta ST and that ford steering was excellent but then I had a focus loaner which was one of the worst steering I ever felt. My friend had a rental Hyundai or Kia EPS back in the day and the electric power steering had a large delay that he was scared driving it on the expressway. Many years back probably their first gen EPS system. |

Great write up, but two main gripes:
1) It's Long Beach Blue NOT Laguna Seca Blue 2) Comparing the GT350R to the M2 is about as nonsensical as reviews get. The GT350R is: a) WAY more expensive than an M2 b) WAY more difficult to find than an M2 c) It's a 530hp muscle car |

The step-up to the GT350R is where I take issue. And why giving up on the GT4? PS: not that my opinion matters, but either the R8 or GT350R (if you can get one). |

R8 is like a supercar version of the M3. The car does it all in a supercar fashion. My 2014 R8 has nicer ride than my M3 and about the same front end height for everyday driving. After driving the 2017 I was impressed on how much nicer and improved over the last gen. I probably cannot get rid of the GT4 unless the (impossible 911R / 991 GT3 manual) or GT4RS. becomes available. The GT4 does not feel super car or as prestige but the Porsche tuning by their GT division is A+. So good that only comparable to cars over $100k. The R8 is only to hold me over if I'm sure I'm able to get those cars later on. |
