2015 CPO Purchase weird issue
Hello All,
I just got myself a 328i 2015 CPO. Truly amazed by the performance of this car with the exception of one thing that is a little worry some to me. When at a stop sign especially in NYC there is one at every block. I notice when when the car is braking to stop under 20 mph i notice the car feels heavier when it decelerates and often i feel a small jerk when the rpm gauge bounces slightly up and comes down. I feel this in all driving modes eco , comfort, sport. I feel it especially worse in sport mode. Another thing i noticed is if i accelerate to 15 mph and let go of the gas the car feels heavy after a few seconds and there is still a small jerk as the car comes to a stop on its own. I also notice that the effects of this small jerk is more during cold starts where engine is not fully heated up. I was wondering if this this normal. Car has about 12000 miles on it. The software on the car is MN-003.003.001. Thank You all for your insights. |

This is normal, it's the transmission down shifting.

Just wanted to update yall.
I got a service loaner 328i. It doesn't have the same issue as my car with the jerky downshifts. It actually accelerates a bit faster too. I deff think my dealer needs to get involved now, i took it to them a week ago and they said the jerking was normal with the downshifts but clearly a loaner has no jerking and i am driving it the same way i drive my car. Will let you know what the update is after the dealer looks at it. |

The transmission adapts to driving styles. Assuming the dealer finds nothing wrong, I wonder if it's been driven hard previously and therefore adapted to a, what seems like, pretty noticeable downshift pattern when coming to a stop.

Thats what i figured and they did not clear the adaptations last time. This time they will. just sucks not getting the smooth ride from my own car and this loaner they gave is like silk with shifts and stops.

Mine is jerky as well. Resetting it doesn't really help. Noticed some loaners are better than others. Feels like a degradation of refinement as its gotten worse over the past 10k miles.
