Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps

Had my mirror caps stolen last weekend so took a chance and ordered some CF ones on eBay. Took my time and made sure to order caps and not just the cover. It's easy to tell since all the covers say tape required or included. Also looked for sellers shipping from USA and not china/taiwan since I have no caps on currently. Paid around 100 shipped and showed up 3 days later exactly as scheduled via UPS. Very happy to say they fit perfect and the cf and finish is superb. Has all the same clips as OEM and does not require screws or the mirror removal. Sorry not the best photos but wanted to share my experience in case any of you have similar issues. Can also share the seller I got it from if requested.

Do you have a link to the place you got them from? Do the stock ones just pop out?

Yepp the stock ones should just pop out if u grab from the bottom closest to the window and work your way up to the top clips. This is the listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/400781121926...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

However, I don't know how they'll hold up in the sun. I'll keep them waxed and my car is a lease so only has to make it through one more year.

The caps pop off easily, almost too easily.

This is where I ship all my American sourced parts to, very reasonable rates, certainly a lot cheaper than shipping across the border, and just minutes away from the Rainbow Bridge:

So, thinking of putting these on my White 328ix. The underside of my mirrors is black already, I think it might go well with the tinted windows. Opinions on the look? Yes? No? Maybe?

My car is white as well. I have a similar dilemma. I don't have any other black/cf bits to match the caps with, so not sure they'll look on their own. To be fair though, you can spec Sport Line vehicles with black mirror caps (but not the M Sport).

Was thinking of adding a few more "black" elements to the look of my car, starting with the black front and rear splash guards, a black rear bumper protection film from AC Schnitzer (to protect the top of the bumper, and improve the image of the backup camera at night), and matte black front grilles. So perhaps it would go well with everything that I'm planning....

The ebay ones looks good for a few months but will eventually start to develop issues with the finish, especially if the car is parked outside year round. I ended up tossing mine and going back to stock caps.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll be sure to throw some extra UV and wax protection on it but as long as it makes it to my lease end I'll be happy.
