That's normal and is on the startup screen on every car. The only way to remove it is to code it out..that's what I did. Nothing to worry about other than it is an annoying feature, I suppose required by law.

It's something lawyers want to pop up each time you start the car so you don't try to sue BMW when you use cruise control and drive into a tree because you aren't paying attention.

All new cars with screens have some sort of message like that.

They are just letting you know that the 328 is NOT a self driving car. You are responsible for it's operation.

No you don't have to do anything. There's nothing you can do about that message.

By "new car" I meant any car that's been built in the last 10+ years.

You can easily code out the warning message, this is talked about extensively in the coding FAQ area. If you aren't comfortable with it a local coder can probably remove it for ~$50. Worth it to not have to see that stupid pop-up multiple times a day.

Because no one in the UK has tried legal action against a manufacturer because cruise control didn't take care of things whilst the driver jumped in the back seat for a quick nap

In all seriousness, try asking this member as he seems to be having the same issue on another thread

Or just ignore it. It will go away on its own after you start driving.

It's a legal disclaimer. You simply acknowledge it then move on..

Because you guys aren't as free as we are.

Sue others to compensate for the fact that you're a complete moron and you too can experience the freedom of legal disclaimers in cars.

We also have warning signs on ladders that you could fall off and get hurt.

Personally I think lawyers should have a warning sign on their foreheads, "Warning, I will cause you to have to endure thousands of pointless warning signs throughout your lifetime. Poke here to accept."
