damn.. I would expect it to be lighter.. Is the b58 heavier than the N55? BMW quotes it as 3555.. Does your car have every option?

Not really.

340w/these options:
  • 6MT
  • track pack
  • 19" rims
  • paint
  • leather
  • backup cam

This was weighed with just under an eighth fuel level. Scale is in 20 pound increments.

F30 are heavy user of iron, compared to its competitors. Lying about its weight started even before its birth, when BMW says it's lighter than E9X.

Ha.. If BMW is off by the same % with each vehicle I would hate to see how much the 435i Vert Xdrive really weighs... 5,000lbs?

Perhaps they "lied" about the curb weight (E90 was 3500#, so around 3%). They also "lie" about engine output, understated by around 19%. Let's call it even

With or without you in it?

I weighed mine once with me in it and around half a tank I think, ~3770 pounds (I weigh approx 187 pounds). My options are listed below..

How much weight is on the front axle and how much weight is on the the rear axle is a more precise way to ask the question. Sorry for any confusion.

Ahaa, well I kinda thought it was something like that you were asking but I thought that no way could he mean that cause it would be impossible to get an accurate weight on that scale

Its just a simple scale on the ground that I roll on to but what type of scale can you use to get an accurate measurement on the axles? It really WOULD be interesting to know

Almost any truck stop has a self service (usually) scale one can use to weigh cars, pull one axle on and get weight, pull other axle on get weight, probably cost you five bucks or so, ask at the fuel desk. You may get some funny looks from the truck drivers but as long as you stay out of the party row in the back of the parking lot you'll be fine.

That's disappointing... I guess it makes sense when the M3/4 is 3,500-3,600.

Regardless, the car is still a performer and acts much lighter than it actually is.
