BMW M2 Wins Australia's Best Drivers Car

The BMW M2 wins Australia's best drivers car (ABDC), went up against some great competitions like the Porsche 911, Merc C63S and Audi RS3 and came away the winner

Thanks for sharing. Winning from the 911. That's something.

Cheers

Very encouraging and just nipping ahead of the Porsche is some statement as well
The only surprise is the absence of the Ford Focus RS.I thought you guys were getting it...not that it would have bothered the M2 in this shootout,I'm sure.

Nice !!

I like the way they tested these cars! There is more than max HP, max speed.

As a dd the M2 is just top notch, you can`t get it more all round than this IMO.

DrtyJrze hey man, so you gonna go on a rant this time about how great the M2 is instead of bashing it? Or do you do what you claim us 'fanboys' do, and cherry pick your articles? Lol, let's hear some praise, I'm waiting :P

M2 a better driver's car than the Porsche 911?

So I guess the Focus RS is the new king of the hill then, huh?

BTW, strange you tagged me to a "win" article. I've never was tagged to anything else.

Is not that the definition of cherry picking?

What is there to cherry pick? The reviews I have seen for the M2 have been glowing. Fastest series BMW EVER around Hockenheim, most reviewers prefer it over the M4, yeah what a shit-mobile!

I tagged you to one because on the last article that I saw you comment on, you were all high and mighty about how 'warned' us 'kool aid' drinking fanboys, when the M2 didn't even necessarily 'lose' the comparison.

You saw one article which wasn't even a loss for the M2 and you jumped ALL over it. So here, your comments about this one are simply sarcastic, instead of acknowledging anything good about the M2.

Honestly, it's like you just can't find it within yourself to give the car any credit.

You loved the other review but now you mock this one. Hmmmm. I don't think I ever mocked the other review?

Give credit when it's due, man!

I think Motoring did a great job with their Driver's car of the year as they had different car enthusiasts (even a racing driver) drive the cars in all sorts of different roads (including a track) for a week, and it was the overall points (500 in total) that determined the winner...

http://www.motoring.com.au/abdc-bmw-...review-102386/

Scroll down for their verdict for every car entered...

Note that the M2 was a manual and could have been even faster on the track if it was a DCT, it only lost to the 911 and C63S AMG!

'The 911'.....

Having read the 991.2S (turbo) Sportauto carmag Supertest (7:34 @ NS, on par with 991 GT3...1:09.xx HK) the tester(Christian Gebhard, the guy who got 1:12.2 at Hockeheim Short in the M2) stated this: one can conclude the '911' has grown too big /too remote (his statements) for being a driver's car...(my German is pretty good) so...

Anyway each to their own off course, but anybody claiming the '911'(and there are xxx models of the '911' through the decades) being 'the driver's car' whenever it's compared to car [insert brandname] should think again.

Cayman GT4/Boxster718, those are the driver's cars even though slower than 991(.2)

And off course ANY GT3(GT2), totally awesome cars!

Cheers

This:
Quote:
In ideal conditions in the hands of V8 Supercar racer Luke Youlden, the M2 managed a Baskerville lap time (1:00.588) bettered only by the might of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S (1:00.396) and long-honed track ability of the Porsche 911 Carrera S (0:58.630). The next closest competitor was almost a second slower.
Though a small track, wow, because 991.2S(turbo) is SO fast(understatement) still a great achievement for M2(6 rubbery gears lol)!

Cheers

The only 911 worth having is a Singer 911.
