Any major changes for the 2 series? In particular will the M235i become the M240i?

Info on the 2017 2 series hasn't been released by BMW Canada, but I imagine you're on the right track.

I hate them so much! When I bought my 328d I ask Bmw Canada many times why the 328d(320d) was so expensive compared to the 320i and they never got back to me now they reduced the price by much just because the C300D wagon is around the corner. Very good for my resale value!

- iDrive 5.0 will be standard across the board (no touchscreen)
- 2017 2, 3, and 4 series will be the first BMWs to get Apple CarPlay integration. It will become available for September builds (August and July builds will be eligible for a free retrofit)

I cannot figure out how to embed pictures or PDF's on this forum, so an external link will have to do for now.

Don't know for the GT but the Touring already had LCI for MY2016.

Current LCI F30 with NBT EVO will be able to update for iDrive 5.0?

Learning Navigation - Adaptive routes

Is a nice touch - my current idrive nav tries to take me a way that adds 10 minutes to my commute!! Seems to never route me down a couple of local roads for some really odd reason.

MY2016 F31-Touring already has the same updates as the F30 sedan.

2017 C300 wagon and sedan have been delayed indefinitely, with the EPA holding up certification for the USA. EPA has apparently been refusing to certify any new diesels for both Mercedes and VW/Audi.

If you read the BMW Canada Product Planning Bulletin, it specifically mentions "the opportunity to take advantage of the lack of diesel competition" from Mercedes and Audi for the 328d sedan. By drastically dropping the price (and equipment level), I guess that BMW Canada sees an opportunity to increase the total sales of 328d sedans with de-contented versions.

The Product Planning Bulletin mentions a significant amount of de-contenting for the basic 2017 328d, down to the level of the 320i. This should not have a major impact on your car's re-sale, since your car likely has far more equipment.

From what I remember the major difference between the 320i and the 328i appart from the engine is the "modern line package" which is a 2000$ option on the 320i. So even if you add this package you end up with a less expensive car.

If this document is correct, the 320i and 330i will only be available with xDrive, and the only rear wheel drive version in the lineup will be the 340i. Sounds like rear wheel drive BMW's are going the way of the manual transmission.

Hopefully BMW USA will not follow the lead of their Canadian counterparts.

I suppose this is just for Canada and I know BMW doesnt even stock 328i in PA/NJ where i am at. Perhaps this is just a function of Canada being so far north.

Ugh, this would be a deal breaker. Does the M Sport with M Adaptive suspension get the increased ride height and poort weight distribution of an xdrive???

Like I mentioned in the other thread, this is the first time I'm seeing CarPlay being mentioned. Pretty big deal for me.

Canada gets standard xDrive on most vehicles, that's just the way the market is here. We get a lot less choice than American customers.

Do you think it'll only be available for cars with the larger nav screen?

The screen size is not changing. Your question is probably about the different iDrive versions. CarPlay and iDrive 5 will be introduced simultaneously. Whether that's a hard dependency, we'll know once the retrofitters (Bimmernav and the like) have a chance to play with that hardware.
