How does the new LCI 328i drive compared to pre-LCI 328i?

There has been a lot of talk about the LCI 2016 F30 models driving a lot better than pre-LCI F30's.

Has anyone driven both pre-LCI and LCI 328 models? Is it a night and day difference or barely any difference?

Theirs a couple comparisons between the 335i and 340i but haven't seen many comparing Pre-LCI and LCI 328i or 328xi models.

Engines should be the same as far as I know.

yes engines are the same right now, but the 330i will get the new higher torque B48 2.0L turbo 4. I'd wait.

While I havent driven an LCI 328 yet, I just came from a pre-LCI 335 to the 340. The changes that were made to the front suspension geometry and the other suspension tweaks they made should apply across the board.

And to answer your question (at least for the 335->340) I would say its closer to a "night and day difference" than "barely any difference". Now "night and day" might be a slight exaggeration, but its absolutely noticeable and greatly enhances the whole experience.

I dont know which suspension you are talking about but I highly recommend the Adaptive M.

I went from a 2014 328i to a 2016 328i a couple of weeks ago. AMAZING difference! Yes, night and day difference! The car is quieter, rides much better, the steering is better, suspension is better. The nav screen and back-up camera are much clearer. My wife couldn't understand why I went from a black on black 328i to another black on black 328i, but they are two different cars. I think they upgraded the sound deadening or insulation. I have the same suspension, same tires, same transmission, but it rides like a totally different car. So glad I went with an LCI instead of keeping my pre-LCI!

I have a MY2014 328i and had a 2016 loaner and I would say the difference is noticeable. The suspension is better, lower road noise, and the car just felt more premium and tighter overall.

Do the 2016 LCI 328i's still have the Active Sound Design found in the 2014/2015 328i's?

Yes, they do have Active Sound. I don't think that has changed. The LED lights are awesome too.

I agree with this - went from a 2013 F30 to a 2016 F36 and the improvements with insulation, road noise deadening are very noticeable. Can't comment on the ride or suspension since the F30 was a standard line and the F36 came with the sports package. The "diesel" sound is also significantly less noticeable with the 2016 F36, such that if I wasn't listening for it, I wouldn't have heard it.

My 2016 F31 328d wagon does not have ASD. Maybe because it's a diesel vs the gas.
