What options weigh the most?
Does anyone know which factory options add the most weight to our vehicles (340/ 335/435)? I can't seem to find this info anywhere.. I'm guessing the power seats...then maybe the 19" wheels, since it's added unsprung weight. 320/328/428i owners can chime in, but added weight of the N55/B58 is known.

I don't know what the individual options weigh but my 335i is fully equipped and has 19" wheels (401). This adds a total of about 120kg/265lbs.

After a track day I was impressed by the performance after adding mppk so I took it to a lorry scale at the harbour. The cars total weight minus me, some gas and it's own weight left about 120kg of "unexplained" which must be all the options ;-). All in all it didn't make the track experience less impressive :-)

I'm going to put my car to scale this week.
I find the thing that weighs the most is me. 19 inch wheels add ~3 pounds per wheel which is about 12 pounds of weight. Not sure if there any options on an American 340 that would add weight… Thinking… I guess the carbon fiber trunk spoiler might add half a pound… |

Darn, you are taking all the fun out of it for us 4-banger fans. Other than engine options where the weight differences are known, I've never seen info on the weight of individual options or packages. Hope someone has that info. It would be good to know. |

There are a lot of things that add weight.
Leather vs fabric seats Performance brakes Electric seats Tow bar TV tuner Fog lights Bigger wheels and much more... You also have to remember du deduct the weight from the allowed load of the car.

Is the moonroof an option? I recall you could have it deleted on the M235i, but never saw the ability to delete on a x35i

It might depend on the model and package, but my car won't have a moonroof on it.
I think the heaviest option I selected was the split folding rear seat. |

How much does the split folding rear seat weigh vs the non? I couldn't imagine is weighing more than maybe 15 lbs.

My car is very bare bones, it has manual front seats - which I really like. So I was just commenting of the options on my car, above the base model, split folding rear is the only one with significant weight added.
