How did BMW make such a huge change in 2014 without LCI? Is this unprecedented? In the e90 generation idrive update happened with the LCI in 09.

Been there since at least 2014 I believe.

If they can improve their product by only upgrading the iDrive, why should they wait 2 years to make the change with the LCI?

2012-2013 MY F3x had CIC iDrive, 2014+ has NBT.

LCI from BMW is not that significant anyway. Look how Mercedes does facelifts, that's what I call a huge change
