How do you wash your car with Xpel?

My M2 is the first car ive had wrapped. I wanted to know the best ways to clean, maintain, etc. I obviously have read that info on their website but would be interested if there was any good additional info out there?

I second this. I am researching information on what to do as far as sealing/waxing etc. I think I'm going to buy Adam's 2 bucket wash kit and maybe a few other goodies from Adam's. I'm not sure if I should get a foam gun or buy a pressure washer and get a foam cannon. I live in a condo association and there isn't a ton of room. Maybe a washless kit too?

I watched a video of Ammo NYC and he basically just washed a Singer Porsche that had Xpel wrap and then just waxed the clear bra....Anyone have any suggestions?

My installer The Tint Shop Inc, near me told me to wash it like i'd wash paint.... I can wax it the same way and seal it but not to compound it? Its a self healing film so i'm not sure why you'd have to compound it anyway.

These tips, I think, are about film edges. I had a few spots on my previous car and if you get wax on the edges of the film you'll never get it off. I tried a soft bristle toothbrush and any number of other things.

Unless you have a full wrap, when you wax just go for the surfaces of the film and avoid smearing over the edges.

Yeah I heard that Carnuba wax is actually friendly on the wrap. I'm going to add either opti-coat or ceramic pro on top of my wrap.

From what i have read opticoat or a ceramic coating is probably the best way to go. I have friends who have waxed their cars with clear bras and the seams tend to collect wax and in some cases it can get under the bra which isn't good. I will be going with opticoat, I use a lot of Optimum products and they all work exceptionally good.

I'll be using Opticoat sealant and spray wax. My installer said these products would be fine.

I'll post up a list of products we use in the shop.

But for the most part you can wash normally, good soap, 2 bucket method, good wash mitts or sponges. Dry with a blower or with a good drying towel. Detail Sprays, Spray Sealants all work well.

Instructions from my installer:
  1. Wait 24 hours after installation to wash your car.
  2. Remove insect or other stains that did not come off with your normal wash process with the Xpel Spray Cleaner immediately.
  3. Seal with XPEL Flawless Finish Paint Protection Film Sealant at least once every 3 months to preserve high gloss.

Note: Light scratches in the film will self-heal in 30 minutes at high temperatures. In colder conditions, or to accelerate the process, pour warm water (120°F) over the affected area.

Why use spray wax or any wax on Opti Coat ?

At the price you pay to have Opti Coat on your car why take a chance to ruin it with wax ?

Anyway, no wax can have the shine Opti Coat has.

Does the Xpel film alter LBB's color in any way? I'm wondering if a full wrap would need to be done or if I only did the front, would the color be "off" from the rest of the car?
