2016 435i missing cooler?!?!
Hey guys I know this may be a dumb question but I recently purchased a f36 435i and noticed somthing odd. On the front bumper where the fog flights are placed has a open plastic piece that allows air to flow to the coolers from outside. I noticed that on mine the driver side is caped shut and the passenger side is open (cooler visible).
At this point I think Bmw ditched one of the coolers previously available on all 435i models up to 2015 with out fog lights. What do you guy think is going on here? |

Totally normal since 2012.
For the US market, only one side is "open" as you found out. The difference now is that you have fog lights.... |

Isn't it package dependent? i.e. if you got m sport package and m sport brakes you have the additional cooler?
I confirmed that my wife's F30 335 got to 300F oil temps without the additional cooler at buttonwillow |

This is dependent on the package you choose. You get the Aux oil cooler and the increased speed limit to 155.
You need the M Sport with the M brakes and high performance summer tires.

Passenger side is an engine oil cooler; driver's side is/was an auxiliary radiator. I noticed the loss of the auxiliary radiator and the addition of the Fog Lights when our 2015 435xi GC was replaced with a 2016. I was concerned at first, but it really is not an issue unless you plan to track your car. As well if the M Performance Package is ordered here in Canada, the Fog Lights are deleted and the auxiliary radiator is included.
