Anyone's m4 get hydrolocked in today's rain?
Houston rain is worse than ever today and with some areas of flooding, hopefully you all stay safe!

It was insane! Glad I had a rental SUV... drove through >1' of rain to get on site today.
Saw so many cars abandoned in the middle of the road. Crazy.

It was crazy out there. I drove around my block in the least flood prone area in the city (the Heights) and decided to not risk the car. I was lucky enough to get an UberXL going in for ~$40 (to the Energy Corridor) and hitched a ride back in a buddy's tuck. It honestly wasn't too bad on my route (6am out 3pm in) and I'm pretty sure the M4 could have handled it but there were some crazy spots where there looked to be a foot of water. Another buddy drove his new F-type into a deep puddle in the middle of Memorial (in the loop) so I guess I made the right call.
Here's a cool video of a reporter rescuing some idiot live on the air. I'm spending the evening looking at SRT-8 Jeep GCs on the internet as a bad weather car. Last edited by gearboxtrouble; 04-18-2016 at 06:48 PM.. |

Join the club bud, all day long I have looked for a Jeep GC. There is a dealership somewhere in Ilinois, Naperville Jeep that offer some great deals compared to the steals we get here in Houston.
Anyway, I have a 1.5 miles drive to work and I was just about to flood my car, I made a U turn, drove on the wrong way a little and came back home and guess what, stupid iPhone didn't refresh its Mail to see that my work office was closed today... Last edited by CiprianS; 04-18-2016 at 11:00 PM.. |

Growing up in the SF Bay Area, I thought I knew what rain was. Then I moved to Houston for a while. Now I know what rain is.

Good thing about being in LA.
Our rain doesn't suck that hard. No climate change my ass.

Actually, that's not true.... got stuck in deep water in LA once ( on fwy junction between 110s & 10w) like that before in a buddy's car. Water was all the way up the window. Car was totalled to say the least.
