First BMW
Finally got my first BMW! I can't wait to start modding it! How many of you guys have a clear bra or xpel on your guys F30? Is it worth it? Will it help protect the bottom of bumper? Or is getting a front lip a better answer?

I wouldn't get clear bras or film ever. Waste of money IMO. Makes the car look crappy after a few years. I saw a nice mercedes with a clear bra, and it looked like crap up close when it was over 4 years old.

Clear bra is definitely a good investment, if you buy a quality one (e.g. 3M) and have it installed by a professional (or at least someone with experience). Can you see the edge of the tape? Yes. Does it look better than a thousand little rock chips? You betcha.
I had it on my E39, and it was a good investment. Some cars are easier to apply it on than others, based on their hood and bumper contours. I'm guessing the F30 bumper (especially M sport) is among the more challenging to apply well. I saw a black X5 the other day in a parking lot that appeared to drive frequently behind gravel trucks...with loose tailgates. On the other hand...on lighter colors, it's not as apparent. And if you tend to keep your distance from other cars, then you're also likely to fare better. And I don't think lease inspections normally penalize people for "normal" wear in the frontal area.

I will never have a car without the clear again after my last one.
