What will you buy if the M2 is unavailable?
If...
(a) You want or need a new car within the next 12 months (by March 2017); and (b) You intend to get an M2; and (c) You find out that due to demand you cannot get the M2 within the next 12 months... What will you buy instead? A different BMW? Another brand? |

I'd keep my 1M off course. Because in terms of sheer fun no car mentioned in the poll will bring more than the 1M imho.
Though I'm also interested in the new Focus RS. Cheers Robin |

Me personally, I'd go in this order: 1) M3. Because I want 4 doors and the torque. The M3 suits what I need very well and is in a price I'm comfortable with 2) Porsche. Love me some Porsches. Would love a new 911, but way out of my league. And Caymans are just too expensive IMHO. I would have loved a GT4, but again out of my budget 3) The Vette Grand Sport has my attention. That's a cool car, but it'd be a long shot for me. I'd want to scratch the Porsche itch at least once before I try American. Great car nevertheless

I was unable to get an allocation in the UK for this year when I trawled a few dealers before Christmas so I have ordered an M4 to replace my M235i . Really looking forward to seeing the M2 in the flesh though as I think it will be a stunning car.

Don't really need a car at this point, want the M2 and hope it works out to get it before July. Time will tell!
Not sure how I feel about the way BMW is handling the M2 supply so don't no if I'll stay with them after this.. Can't deny the quality and performance but to treat customers the way we have been treated, with stealers premium mark ups and piss poor communication do they really deserve our loyalty??? Once again, Time will tell!

If no M2, I'd probably go get a BRZ, and buy a new winter beater that's a) not a Land Rover, and b) something that's not an SUV.
Or I'd be responsible and put a bunch more down on my new home and keep my X1 and horrible Land Rover.

If I cannot get an M2 although being #1 on the list, I'm not gonna make BMW happy by buying an M3/4. Unfortunately, I don't like the new C class or CLA or Audi models. I'm really surprised by the number of positive reviews that new Camaro has but I don't know how much I like how it looks either. I would buy a GT350 in a heartbeat if I could find one at MSRP. So only option for me is Focus RS.

Keep M135i, purchase KWs and a LSD.
Buy Mazda MX-5 (Miata) 1.6 or older Boxster.

Great poll! I'd go with a Cayman. I've always wanted a mid-engine sports car and then a couple years down the line the M2 once they are more easily attainable. Hopefully.

I think the upcoming Porsche 718 Cayman will be more fun to drive than an M2 and it's likely better made. Appears it will cost about the same. It also won't suffer a diminished warranty like BMW after 2016. If I decide to go practical, probably a Macan S.

Great choices...
I am all over the place. Aside from the M2, there are a lot of nice cars coming out soon (year or two). All have their pros and cons, but to me they are all intriguing in some way. Especially the M2, ZCP M3/M4, C7 Grand Sport, and 718 S. -Comp Pkg M3/M4 - Currently my other choice. -C7 Grand Sport - Very curious about this... Mainly pricing, although I know it's couple grand above normal C7. -Audi TTRS - See C7 Grand Sport comments, although we know with the Corvette we are definitely getting a great driver's car. It's wait and see for the TTRS... because, Audi. -RS5 (hopefully not too far out) <-- Just saw a current model white RS5 yesterday. Reminded me that when Audi does it right (in terms of looks) they do it right. -C63S Coupe - A little up there in price, especially when the ZCP M4 is a good deal cheaper. That's my biggest problem with it. And heavy. -718 Cayman - This is a wait-and-see for a lot of people due to the new engine. -Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio - Oh Alfa. Don't f up this release. The stats on paper are really good, it looks great, but #AlfaRomeo -GT350 (or R) - Unfortunately, tough one to get. I started noticing of late, that Japanese cars are just not doing it for me anymore. Mostly, European and American for me. I wouldn't mind a GTR though...haha! But that's out of my price range anyway. Other than that, nothing really excites me from the land of the rising sun. It's sad when I feel the hardtop Miata (possibly coming out?) is one of the few Japanese cars that excites me. (new NSX doesn't count). Honda needs to get off their lazy asses and make a new S2000 or something. I don't want that "there is no market for it" answer from their boring ass executives.
