He says in the video that he can't go into much more detail until the review early next week (assuming Tuesday). However, the biggest nugget to take away from this is the weight number of 3295 that his tells us is 230 lbs lighter than an M4. This actually made me even more excited!!!

It's a tech review. The embargo is on "driving impressions". MotoMan usually does tech first then a few days later releases the driving impressions.

His tech review has a good discussion of the M2 engine, which has been frequently "debated" in this forum.

The weight number is exciting but is it for the DCT or the 6MT?He said the car he tested had the DCT.

Yea, he's usually pretty good with the facts but the weight seems different from the public release (especially with DCT)

Yea...Maybe I'm getting my hopes up a bit, but at least this is encouraging. At any rate, I'm hoping these numbers are straight from the mouths of BMW and he is just passing along the information. I also enjoyed the commentary on the engine bits at the beginning.

Funny he goes into all the detail on the exhaust manifold that allows for a twin scroll turbo but never actually says why a twin scroll turbo is advantageous.

I hope the weight figure is correct; even if DCT is 50 lbs heavier that's still FTW!

He said that all the M2's at the track were DCT.

And I disagree with him that the N55T is a single turbo version of the S55 engine.

It would be great if true, but then BMW would've knowingly been putting out misinfo. Also, why not mention closed deck? The engine is supposed to have S55 pistons, yet he mentions only the piston rings?

Yeah. There were more than a few questionable "facts" in this review. Here's to hoping the weight wasn't a mistake

It seems that he's quoting the curb weight for the MT 228i.

Wondering if he did 3450 minus weight of driver and luggage because he assumed those were baked into the 3450 number?

Back in Oct 2015, the press said that BMW was "targeting" a weight of 3295lbs. Fast forward to now, and BMW have since published an unladen (curb) weight of 1570kg or 3461lbs.

1570kg is the EU weight, which includes 75kg for the driver.
Without those 75kg (which are not part of the car) you end up at 1495kg or ~3296lbs.

If that's the case, then M4 is only 2kg heavier w/ EU unladen weight of 1,572kg.
