"1AG LARGER-CAPACITY FUEL TANK" -- we get a 61 litre (13.42 G Imp; 16.2 G US) tank

We're looking forward to its arrival, and will post pics once it's here.

I'm keen to get a space saver tyre, and some mud flaps, so will check with my dealer to see if any accessories are available in Australia yet.

Hey ttimbo that's great you've got an update on your car. I've been chasing the VIN for my order but still nothing yet (they reckon it's an admin issue for the lack of info), hopefully it's still on track for March delivery but I'm a bit sceptical. It's becoming a test of patience

Hmm...if it's due for March delivery then I think it would have been build, and onboard a ship. I'm not sure what the "admin issue" might be, but I'd suggest persisting.

Congrats. So jealous that we don't have 25i here. I had to settle for 20i.

Please give us some feedback on the variable steering when you get a chance. I love love love the standard steering on F48. Feels like an old sporty hydraulic. Tried variable on a 3 Series before and didn't really like it. Felt disconnected from the road and just weird to operate. But I hear you will get used to the feel pretty quickly. Would love to hear how it feels in a taller heavier car.

Thanks. I have it on my F20 M135i, so I don't think I'll notice much difference, but will confirm when I receive.

Congrats on the birth!

I see you've got "858 ENGINE SETTINGS FOR LOWER-QUALITY FUEL".

Is that a problem in Oz?

I've never had a problem, but I normally always use 98RON. But you can run into problems sourcing that outside the major cities, and 95RON may, or may not be what it says on the can.

Hey I placed my order early Nov but I asked for Jan build so they would have ordered the car later. I still have no VIN though whereas ttimbo does. I'll have to chase my dealer up to make sure the car is on track.

My order was placed at the end of October, and I also specified a 2016 build. I made a slight change to my spec in early Dec, but that would not have effected my build date. I read elsewhere that there are delays for petrol engine X1s at the moment, with Europeans now getting June+ delivery dates.

Thanks both!

That means I may have to wait yet a bit more. Signed end December

So, picked up our car today, and in the brief time since, am very impressed. Nice power from the 25i, smooth transmission, and the sports seats, mocha interior, fine wood oak and sunroof make the interior a really nice place to be.

I'm also so glad we downsized to the 18" wheels. The ride, in Comfort, is much better than the cars with 19" wheels we test drove. Plus the DDC sharpens things up nicely when you need it, although there's a bit more suspension noise than I expected when you hit bigger bumps.

Pirelli RFTs are quieter than I expected, but overall I need more time in the car before reaching a firm conclusion.

Pics to follow.
