335D issues
Hi all,
Evaluation of 1 year driving with the 335D (MY 2014). The car (citrin schwartz with individual seats and steering wheel) was almost fully loaded and was a premium selection (17.000 km). I drove 20.000 km last year. Major pros: 1) Power and torque in combination with Xdrive 2) Fuel consumption: lowest 5.4-highest 10.5; average 7.5-8 l/100 km 3) Active suspension 4) Sport seats Cons: 1) Variable steering. 2) Dealers and technicians are almost close friends I have visited the dealership every 2 months because of: a) Brake problems (performance brakes; lots of noise, probs with handbrake) b) Tank lid not always closing c) In the beginning, engine "locked down". EGR sensor stuck. d) Windows do not always close completely (go down for 4-5 cm) e) Rear light dropped out f) 3 snap-in adapters for the iphone. Could not release the phone. BMW is now "investigating" the problem ... g) most recent problem: diesel exhaust smell at front of the engine. Must quickly go back to solve the problem. h) loose air duct This is my 7th BMW in 8 years (E46 318i pre-facelift; E46 320D coupé facelift; E92 320D; E90 318D, 530D GT, 218i (car of my wife) and now the F30. Except for a broken turbo on the 320D (known issue), I only experienced minor problems. This F30 really sucks. New price of this car was almost 80.000 euro (more than the M3) but quality is really BMW unworthy. Am I an exception? Monday car? Anyway, if the problems stay, it might be my last beamer ... Cheers Frank |
