Service in Sydney
Do you guys all go to BMW?
Or is there like a "famous" independent service guy people go to.

i avoid the eastern suburbs like the plague so i'm not going to be much help, someone else may know a place closer. however Pete at Advan http://www.advanperformanceeuro.com.au/ would be the best, and i recently found an ex bmw parramatta head mechanic who's gone out on his own in peakhurst which is handy and cheap and you don't get the apprentice working on your car 0405156407

There is BMWise in Artarmon. Not on the Eastside, but close.
BMW Club members get 10% discount too.

There is also BMSAutohaus in Darlinghurst. I don't know anything about them apart from that they are there.

I last used them about 10 years ago when I worked around the corner from them. Had no issues and good value. My E36 M3 was heavily modded for the track and it wasn't an issue.

I know...
I used to have a renault and on the forums they all swear by this one independent guy in a small little work shop, he did a great job at a 25% discount compared with dealer. But he was so detailed and anal about the service, he'd even tighten the door hinges, clean the engine bay, clear different hoses with a special spray etc. I might do some research on the above few suggestions closer to me.

Hmm, I usually service mine at Trivett BMW & BMW @ Rushcutters Bay, got it part of the Corporate pack.
I've heard Cityperformance is pretty good as well.

So had my service today with BMS Autohaus. Having owned quite a few cars now... I'd have to say Barry at BMS Autohaus is right up there at the top with Paul V (Renault owners would know him).
Well I was very impressed with the FREE pickup and drop off service they provide (Pick up can be arranged between 7-10am and drop off before 530pm). I organised for a pick up at 10am, he came on time, serviced the car and dropped the car off at 3pm. As for servicing, it's only the 1st service, so it's pretty standard just oil and vehicle check. But very well priced compared with BMW. Highly recommended.
