Autologic vs ESys

Hi All,

I have an early 2012 M135I, but this forum seems more active than the F20 forum in regards to coding type questions.

I wish to update the software in my car to the latest versions for all modules since there are many updates I would like to take advantage of (such as Launch control etc.). I have an ESys setup with cable, so I can do it myself, but I am not that confident and there is risk of bricking something. I also have access to the an Autologic setup at a local workshop. I just have the following questions:

* Is Autologic capable of updating all software for all modules up to latest specification from BMW (does it do everything ESys can do)?
* Is it safer than using a cheap cable with my windows laptop (which I have used successfully for coding in the past, but much less risk)?

Thanks,

Adrian
