m logo

How do you see the M logo start up screen on the nav . I caught a glimpse of it the other day. So I know it's there. Mine always goes straight to navigation start up. Anyone know if it's in settings? Or what I'm doing wrong. Yes I know there are a lot of M badges to remind me of what I'm driving it's just kinda annoying me.

I'm curious about this too. The few times I've spotted the logo have come after the car has been running for a while and then I park to go do something and come back to the car after being gone for only a few minutes.

I'm wondering if we don't see it more often because the stupid legal disclaimer is preventing us from seeing it. Just a theory.

If you unlock and start he car wishing a few secs it runs the m graphic while loading idrive. If you unlock the car while walking to it or wait a few seconds longer to start it the idrive boots and it has time to load so the m graphic won't run. That's my educated guess......

I coded the disclaimer off so that may assist is seeing it more too.

I was also wondering this, it seems random but the above suggestion makes sense.

I asked my dealer when it went in for its 1200 mile service and they were hopeless just said no one knew and their demo car was the same.

You don't need to get it coded at all.

If you unlock the car, get in and start it you won't see the start up screen as its already processed and booted if the car has been locked for more than around 20 mins. However if you then stop the engine, get out and lock the car then unlock and start up, you will see the boot screen.
I saw mine the other day as I'd forgotten something from the house and had to pop back in. Mine shows the animated connected drive but the principle for the M cars will be the same but with the M logo.

So get in, start up, turn off, get out, lock, unlock, get in, and turn on. Not exactly the ultimate driving experience then!

The M-Logo is a boot animation and only appears when the electronics are booting up. The vehicle will need to fully be asleep in order to electronics to power down.

1. Lock vehicle/Windows rolled up
2. Wait for ~5min, do not open trunk or touch door handles. When the LED behind the start button/DCT knob turns off, simply wait another minute or so to ensure the car is fully asleep.
3. Unlock and press/hold Start button with foot off brake. You should see M-Logo boot animation.

Give it a try.

Cheers . I know what it looks like . Seen it in my m5. And glimpsed it once in the m3. But that was all it was. A glimpse. Does yours do it every time hitman999 ?
I've also glimpsed m3 in head up display but again only once. I think that was upon return to the car after a short time away... Is it just random ?

Hi.

It only shows if idrive is completely shutdown and you get in the car and press the power on. If you unlock the car and wait before pressing the power on idrive may have already loaded so you won't see it.

Pulled over and switched off ignition for about 5 mins . When I restarted the car after being sat inside the M logo start up screen came on. Just incase anyone else is trying to find a solution.
