Can I cut the factory exhaust? (435i)

So, I have installed akrapovic evolution on my 435i.
I'd need to sent my factory one but it's a big chunk.

Isn't is usually separated into two pieces?
So that makes us to install MPE easily?

Shall I cut this to ship it?

Please let me know! Thanks.

I'd cut my factory exhaust a few inches behind of the flexhose and removed the whole thing from the car.
After that the rear muffler has to come off for sale it and I cutted it 12" from the weld line. So whats your exact question? Are you worried about the oversize package if shipped in one very big piece or about the re-installation procedure for the next user?

Exactly, that's what I'm concerning about.
So cutting it 12" from the weld line, it should be no problem to re-use??
Thanks!

As the diameters at least are the same, you have to use a sleeve with two shackles to align and fix the muffler to the tube at the cutting line. Thats no problem at all if you wont weld again.

You're welcome.
For example refer to this page, where an adequate sleeve is shown.
