Always thought the 1M looked like a happy guppy. The M2 is certainly meaner, but I think i do miss how prominent the flares were made on the 1M

Prefer 1m

Dig the front of the m2 but despise the side, especially in the track video on the reveal. Looks bizarre

M2 is not for me unless seeing it in person is a lot different. Hope those who like the styling enjoy the car!

Just saw the reveal and it looks great. BMW chose the wrong way to unveil it because the sound on periscope really sucked. But from what I heard when he revved the engine it's gonna sound great.

Very nice evolution here - I am impressed and it will look even better in a different color.

M2 looks better from every angle. But those reflectors on the rear. Just awful. Should have had them as sculpted vents.

The 1 M, man, the 1 M... The flares and rear end of the Einser ///M are way better.

I'm not entirely sure about the M2's front bumper to be honest. Bit too much busy there. Trunk needs a taller spoiler ASAP. Otherwise, as a package, it's great.

Good job, BMW.

The M2 looks really aggressive, too aggressive for me. It slightly makes the 1M seem happy.

All in, Id rather have the 1M

Honestly, right now I think I could end up anywhere.
1M is an option
e92 M3 is an option
M4 is an option (2nd hand, decent price)

All depends on what pricing is here in SA and how the car performs real world now

The M2 looks better from the front and I definitely prefer the 1M from the rear.

Can anyone confirm if the carbon fiber interior trim is exactly the same as the M4?It is hard to tell from the interior pic.

Of course this is subjective but I think the M2 looks much better than the 1M. You can see how dated the 1M is along side the M2. Especially the interior. The M2 is also wider and lower than the 1M.

It's interesting how many people were whining earlier about the Side mirrors. I wonder if they were the same people whining about the 1M have used parts from the old E92 M3. Like the same side mirrors that they are comparing the lack of M mirrors on the M2. Lol

Overall we knew what it would look like but the reveal is much better. I had my mind set on the M4 for months but after watching the way it moved so freely in the reveal video, with pricing this competitive, and it looking this damn good, I am seriously reconsidering this to be my next car. But I will wait for $750 or $1,000 cash rebate as my current lease doesn't expire until June of 2017.

Great Job BMW! I love the size of it, finally another M car in this size between the E36 M3 and the E46 M3.

1M looks dated in some of those pictures... wow so dated, but in person or rolling down the street it looks nothing like these images.

No doubt the lower wider M2 looks more aggressive, but IDK that it looks better. Compared to these 1M pics yes, but the 1M I see in my garage looks different to me.

Ill keep my slot at the dealer for now, until I see it in person.... or I may just hold off and wait for the CSL or whatever they are calling it.

The M2 looks good in my opinion, a bit out of my budget in Australia but I'm going to get those interior pieces !

Wow, was never a fan of the 2 series, but the M2 looks incredible and IMHO better from every angle than the 1M. It really does look dated.

From the front the 1 series lines droop down on the corners while the 2 series arc upwards giving it a more agressive appearance. The rear of the 1M is hard to beat though.

M2 is a good looking car, hope the driving reviews match the look.

I agree the 1M looks better in person versus these pics, but maybe that just means that the M2 looks that much better in person also.

Why does the dct m2 weigh less than the manual? I thought the dct m4 weighs more than manual m4??

The M2 looks quite plain to be honest because the fenders are not as bold.

The bodylines of the 1M are sharper and more prominent.

The front fender of the M2 is almost flat...nothing striking at all.

M2 looks more modern though.

Use real photos of 1M and not pictures to compare because pictures cannot capture the sharpness of 1M's bodylines.

Really have to see both on the street to compare.

Was talking about this in one of the other threads - I was guessing that perhaps the fenders appear more "dramatic" on the 1M due to the shorter wheelbase. Since the 2er is a little longer, harder to make it that pronounced and bulldog-like.

I will have to say that I think the M2 looks significantly more aggressive than the M4. I think BMW has done a very nice job here. A few complaints for sure (no M mirrors, rear reflectors are a little odd), but those nitpicks are going to likely fade into the background if this car drives super well. I am thinking it will.

M2 looks better from every angle except for the rear quarter panel where the hips of the 1M is straight boss looking...
