JB4 Map 2 or Map 5??? Suggestions

Hey guys! Like the title says im just trying to get some opinions on weather people like Map 2 or Map 5 better. The shop that installed my down pipe and JB4 said i could run either one but map 2 should do just fine.

My mods:
BMS Intake
Eisenmann Race exhaust
ER dp
JB4

Also is there anyway possible for my JB to delete my Cel code from my intake permanently. I keep getting a P00BD code which i believe is for "mass air flow"

Thanks in advance!

Chris

Our 435i has a catless DP and a JB4.

Has flex fuel wiring but no EWG wiring connected. I honestly felt no difference going to Map 5 from Map 2. Leaving on Map 5 now just because it's probably best.

Pull some logs and let the guys at BMS tell you which is better. I'm guessing Map 5 will be the answer.

I thought Terry / BMS posted a fix for the intake CELs?

Map 2 will target approx 14psi, map 5 will target between 11-17psi based on octane and conditions so run some logs and see which one looks better. Map 5 is probably the safer option but based on your mods I cant see why you couldn't run map 2. I always felt that map 2 pulled harder than map 5 on my old N54.

Both maps are fine. I suggest you try both for a week each and decide which one you like better. I feel map 5 is smoother but it is not consistent.

Map summary
Map 0: JB4 disabled
Map 1: Additive target, around 4psi over stock.
Map 2: Additive target, around 6psi over stock. Suggested for those with 93 octane and bolt on modifications. Also good for small E85 mixtures.
Map 3: Progressive methanol mapping, absolute target of 11-20psi based on meth flow, meth additive setting, and average ignition values.
Map 4: Stock performance with JB4 active for logging only.
Map 5: Autotuning map, absolute target of 11-17psi based on octane and conditions.
Map 6: User definable absolute target map. Suggested for troubleshooting by professionals only.
Map 7: Race gas map. Absolute target of 18.5psi. Requires straight unleaded race gas.

Thanks for the input! To change the maps you hold volume down for 5 seconds then toggle through correct?

I never use map5 - feel inconsistent. Even on the same tank of gas.

I'm not really sure which firmware the JB4 is running since I didn't install it. I guess I'll have to hook my computer up and see which one it is

Run both and see which you prefer. You can also datalog both and see what your boost targets are. Map5 has the potential to run more boost then map2 which is capped around 14-15 while map5 can go to 16-17PSI. (usually only that high on race gas)

Sadly the JB4's aren't (at least mine didn't) shipped w/ the OBD2 firmware on them.

Which means, even if you didn't want to, you now HAVE TO buy the data cable.

Thank you for telling me that. Luckily I got the USB cable also. I'm going to have to check out the firmware on it.

What should the latest firmware be?

Double check me but I think this is the latest and greatest. Assuming you're EWG.

I was scratching my head as well when I first installed the JB4. Upgrading the firmware should normal everything up for you.

Is your car EWG or PWG? If you don't know you'll have to ask someone smarter than me.

According to bimmer.work my production date is 3/18/14. So I guess I am EWG and could update to the latest firmware.
