ER catless Downpipe installed!!!! Hang on

WOW!!! ER Downpipe and JB4 on map 2. Beast mode and simply awesome.

The sound is fantastic too. Kinda the best of both worlds. In Eco/comfort mode and windows up it sound just about like stock(I do have the MPE and AFE intake). But in sport mode it's intoxicating. Like others have said, the 20 to 25 second cold start is pretty loud but it does quickly settles down and the exhaust fumes are minimal but I've had other cars with catless off-road pipes before so maybe I'm used to it.

I'll tell you what, that install was a BITCH for me. It was pretty tough just using Rhino ramps and laying on my back and doing it by myself. The problem was getting the stock downpipe off and not the actual install of the ER downpipe. The lower V band clamp slowed me down the most and for some reason I started to feel claustrophobic while I was under car. Never had that before. It was just tight, cramped, hot(outside temp), and hard to move. The install was actually pretty easy. There's so much more room to work with the ER over stock and surprisingly everything came together pretty easily.

Why did you post this here?

The only downside I see to this combo (we have the same) is the "dead cold" start is loud.

I had the same problem installing on ramps. I'm sure it would have been much easier on a lift.

Thats no fun. You need to drive that thing up some ramps and see how fun it is to lay on your back for a few hours. Once you shake the clostraphobia and figure out how the hell your re going to get that upper V band clamp off its down hill after that. The ER fits perfect and there's so much more room to work with. I was surprised how easy everything lined up and there's no need to drop the exhaust, just the one mount.

Map 2 or 5 and have fun. It's crazy that its a 12 second car and on my commute to and from work (highway) I'm getting 35+ mpg. It's crazy

I'm recently moved into a new apartment and don't have any tools or ramps to get it done. If/when I remove it, I will be heading back to the parents and doing it myself!

And you're right, it's crazy to think of the mileage we get. I just sold my Jeep SRT8 because I couldn't stand the 12mpg average.

Do you have an aftermarket chargepipe installed yet? I'm stock now but thinking of ordering a CP to be safe.

yeah, I was just jesting about doing the dp yourself. It's a real pain in the ass just using rhino ramps and doing it the first time. Plus you have to let the car cool down overnight.

No cp yet. I'm debating on that. I've read issues of blown stock charge pipes and stories of guys replacing perfectly good stock cp's just to have issues with the aftermarket. I'm thinking of maybe just buying one as an insurance policy just in case but I won't nstall it unless the stock goes boom.

I just went the Dinan stage2 route recently and had them cut out the resonator on my MPE for some added sound. I live in a building too so I park underground and the cold starts are pretty damn loud! Can't imagine what a DP would sound like (obviously glorious but crazy loud). All this DP talk has got me already getting the itch...

What issues with aftermarket charge pipe? Haven't heard of any on my end?

Any highway drone with the ER Down pipe? And How much louder does it make the exhaust? I have the Dinana exhaust looking to pair it up with a nice dp

I have a brand new ER CP in the box, haven't even cracked open the tape. It's my insurance policy.
