435i F-36 is Now Full Bolt On-First Driving Impressions

Today was the big day as I had ER CP, ER FMIC and ER Catted DP installed on my F-36 435i Gran Coupe.

Thanks to Dr Euro for his mobile tuning and service work.

It was raining most of the day in So Cal so I've only been able to drive it on slick roads on both JB4 Map 5, 1 and 2.

First thoughts are

OMFG x1000!

I now have so much torque at low RPM's, the car will break loose and incinerate asphault at the rear wheels. It's crazy.

2nd and 3rd Gear on the 8 Speed Auto Tranny in Sport Mode is truly something to behold. Every bit as fast (if not faster) than my 2009 e93 M3 Vertible. And definitely more torque at all ranges of the Rev Band.

In fact I'm considering a dyno now because I wanna see what she is putting down. Gonna fill her up with Race Gas tomorrow and change to Map 7 and see how she roars.

Also...the sound now with MPerformance Exhaust and the Catted DP is incredible. At WOT, it is hypnotic. The good thing is that it's not crazy loud or obnoxious at start up at all. And when idling it is super quiet. No smell of fumes either.

It's only been one night....but MAN OH MAN. Anybody with this car and a long range horizon-DO THESE MOD's. They completely transform the car.

What are your plans for dealer visits? F it?

I have a ***less and a JB4. I have a CP sitting in the box waiting for the OEM failure before I install it.

I'll remove the JB4 and the DP for my 10K service and get a state inspection at the same time.

Great questions and something I considered mightily. My BMW Service Guy knows I Mod. He is very cool and I work with a specific tech at the Dealership who also knows I've done work to it.

To be honest with you, having these installed is very stealthy. CP is Black and much farther down inside/toward engine than on my previous 535i. Have to look hard for it to notice. FMIC being brushed maintains a very stock look. Also have to look hard for it. Obviously when the Front Bumper is off it is noticeable.

I also have a Mobile BMW Tech who can come to my Crib and do work-change out stuff etc. #notworriedatall

PS...no CEL with JB4. Going to play around with maps today to see what happens.

Happy Modding!

No need to remove CP,DP, FMIC for dealer visits. Waste of time and money. But hell I leave everything on my car and I have literally every single engine/performance mod that exists for the F30 N55 installed.

I am assuming you have JB4? What map do you run normally? The reason I ask is playing around between Map 1 and Map 5 today, my but dyno says Map 1 pulls harder with more torque down low. But theoretically Map 5 should offer more boost?

Anybody with thoughts on this?

PS..nasty weather in So Cal here again today (Thanks to Hurricane Dolores so no race gas yet)

PSS..My wife sent me a text today and said "Be Safe" and I was like why did you send that to me out of the blue? And she replied, "I heard your car drive away and it sounded like a race car".

Map 5 will definitely pull harder than 1,2 and probably 3 too. But I run map 6, custom figures because of my pure stage 2 turbo. Take some logs of 1 and 5 and post them so we can see where your boost is at, you might be loosing too much traction in 5 so you can't feel much torque?

You my friend are a GENIUS! That is exactly what it is. Any driving advice you can give me to mitigate that?

You've got the Pure Stage 2 Turbo? Wow! Awesome! How long were you without your car when you had that done? What is she putting down now on the Dyno?

I can't imagine how amazing your car must perform. Congrats bro. Maybe in a year or two, I will contemplate going Stage 2 Turbo.

Lol you can lower your max psi settings in gear 1,2 & 3 in the jb4 I think, also getting wider rear wheels with some Michelin PSS helps a lot too.

And yup! and a few weeks, but that's because I was letting them mess with flash tuning on top of the JB4. most I've gotten is 560whp/540wtq but ran into issues with the factory diverter valve giving up (replaced it with a stronger DV+ from GoFastBits) tires going bald and loosing traction on the dyno badly (replaced them with Michelin PSS) and factory spark plugs giving up (replaced them with colder NGK's). I'm bringing her back at the end of the month for more fine tuning and possibly port injection.

But hey, pulling on 600+hp cars was enough convincing for me to get the turbo lol
