Alright, so lets try this again. After the debacle of trying to order the Super GT from GT Haus, I got lucky and scored an awesome deal on the Meisterschaft GTC from AutoTalent. Big thanks to Golan from AutoTalent for helping me and shipping it out quickly as well.
So now that I finally have the exhaust, I realized that I know nothing about wiring the exhaust For those who have bought the GTC, how did you get the wire from beneath the car into the trunk? I did some research and Im going to tap into my homelink fuse with the mini add a circuit, but other than that I'm completely lost. Ill hopefully be getting the exhaust installed tomorrow, but wiring it is gonna be quite annoying without some help. I wanted to install the exhaust myself but i saw a small crack on one of my rhino ramps, so thats not gonna happen. I love the fact that ill be able to quiet it down to near stock levels, but i also hate it cause of the extra work required, and Gt Haus's wiring diagram doesn't do much help either. If someone could point me to a thread or provide personal experience that would be very appreciated! Anyways, here are some pics. The exhaust comes with 2 x 102 mm black tips, wireless controller, and just the SR pipe. I'm going to probably add a HFC Challenge downpipe in the future as well. I've read about people saying how big the 102 mm tips are, but damn! they are huge in person!! |

I've got the fuses and the add a circuit ready. Red is the hot wire and the black is the ground. What to do next :/
I've never wired anything before so I'm a complete newbie at this |

Well got it figured out! I was over complicating things haha
Sorry for the horrible iPhone pic but here's what I did. I tapped into the home link fuse (fuse #146 5 amps) using a mini add a circuit. The new fuse (I just chose 5 amps cause I saw someone had used 3 amps in a different thread somewhere) goes into the slot furthest away from the metal prongs and the fuse that you are tapping into goes into the slot closest to the prongs. Attached all the intermediate wires, used the nearest metal screw as a ground and BAM, got it wired and ready to go. For now, I have just opened the flaps and disconnected the wires until I figure out how to get the wire from underneath the car into the trunk, but that's for another day. Beyond excited to get this on my car!! |

Finally got everything installed and I am beyond amazed!!!
the sound is fantastic. Upshifts and downshifts sound mean with a lot of popping and crackling. I was afraid it was gonna be obnoxiously loud but its a perfect tone right now. I love it!! I have a short video that I took right after getting it installed which ill upload in just a bit. and then I'm gonna try to get a cold start with some rev's uploaded later this week or next week. Here are some pics of it installed. Although the tips are a bit pricey at $300, I feel like they really make a big difference in the look and are absolutely worth it. |

Glad after everything that you had to go through, you ended up finding one that was already built
It is a quality piece, one of my favorites exhausts for sure.

So why did you have to run power to the exhaust flap? they don't use the same connection as the factory exhaust flap?

Alright so i finally took a video of the exhaust!! The engine is already warm but cold start is basically a bit louder than this. Start to 1:20 is comfort 1:20 to 1:50 is sport 1:50 to end is sport + RPM's didn't go above 5K i believe Last edited by BimmerF32_430i; 07-15-2015 at 06:39 PM.. |
