Nice work and look great. You put that on manually or with a DA? What wax?

Good work. Most waxes tend to hide the swirls instead of removing them (I guess time will tell). I have used a few Meguiars products with excellent results as well, but I have never tried this particular wax.

Looks great!! Yeah, waxes have zero abrasive properties and just cover up swirl marks for a period of time.

True it will last a few months and helps repel water so theres no downside to waxing lol

Nice job, looks great! I waxed my car this weekend but it doesn't look that shiny! I used Meguiars Carnuba wax next time I'll use liquid wax.

Wax isn't meant to remove swirls; it's a sealant. Polish removes swirls. Then you wax.

Wax doesn't provide shine, that's what car polish is for.

In a few months wash, clay, Polish, then sealant/wax. This way, you'll see that nice shine you're looking for.

There's waxes that contain some polish additives so it helps. Gives it a nice shine acts as a paint sealant for a little while and temporarily hides swirls in the clear coat, I don't like using polishes as much cause it digs into the clear coat but if you want to use that get one without any fillers so it lasts!

Shortcuts produce shortcut results.

The key is to use a high quality polish that does minimal cutting. Also, a car should only be polished every 14-16 months. Whereas you apply sealant every 6 months and wax every 3-5 depending on weather.

Polish can also be applied by hand using foam applicators, which takes elbow grease, but is less abrasive.

I use Maguiars polish, but Pinnacle, Wolfgang's, Menzerna are about the best and safest. Autogeek.net is your best friend for car care!

The BEST stuff I've ever used is the ADAMS products. For a new car the ADAMS finishing polish followed by the ADAMS Patriots carnuba wax produces amazing results. I have JET black and there is not a mark in it.... just a brilliant shine.

I have some of that Megs wax laying around, bought specifically for the bimmer.

I did a test a couple weekends ago and after a wash, I put Megs Ultimate wax on the hood and rear-end. The side panels I did in Megs D156. I had a couple people see if they could tell the difference (without knowing where I applied either product). Nobody could tell.

I know that D156 is more of a sustaining wax but nonetheless, I found it an interesting test.

Nice work on the wax job, truly looks great.

I was waxing my GC with Megs Tech Wax with a porter cable and it took off the swirls on that thick black trim between the front and rear passenger side windows. I inherited these swirls when the car was delivered. I assume those swirls came out because it has been several months and no swirls have returned. Perhaps there are some minor polishing agents in it.

I use menzera at work and I agree with what you said, being involved in the car business and having detailing experience I know what to do and when so I just wanted to share but you're right!

Could be and Thanks! In my experience I like to give my car a really good wash and I try avoid using clay bars, I prefer to go with body solvent aka eradicator while washing and then I proceed

Sorry, but I have to disagree with this statement. Polishing removes swirls and scratches and also provides a decent amout of shine assuming it is a finishing polish. Wax, sealants and glazes are all about shine and UV protection.

OP, great job, but get a random orbital. Your arms will thank you.

Wow! Looks great! I wasn't so lucky. I had to use a very mild Meguiars #1 cut polish and machine on mine....but here's the result!

The reflection is off the driver door
