JB4 335i Shift Points

Hi Guys,

I've found a thread talking about shift points and it specifies that I should shift the following:

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=907525

1-2-3 at Redline
3-4 at 6500?
4-5-6-7 at 6k?

Just wondering what your experiences are? I know the car feels slower pulling to redline every time and I get better acceleration short shifting.

isnt the rule of thumb, pulling to redline will give you better long speed on a dead straightaway whereas im assuming short shifting feels faster due to the low end torque generated from kicking it back to lower rpms

Each car is different. You need to do dyno pulls, check where the car's best power is achieved and shift 1000 rpm after the power curve ( if possible)

example:
if on 4th gear the car achieves maximum power between 4000 - 5000 rpm, then i would shift gears around 5500-6000 rpm on third so i am always between 4000-5000 rpm.

On first and second gear, you should just let the car shift by itself.

5500 - 6000 is usually the best shift point on stock turbos.
