Track Day GoPro Placement Help

Ill be headed to Harris Hill (San Marcos, TX) on Sunday and will be bringing my GoPro.

From the video's I have seen posted here, it seems most of you mount the GoPro inside the car on the dash. During my ED, most of my GoPro footage was taken from the roof or hood of the car. I prefer that angle as it allows more to see.

Do tracks force you mount a GoPro inside? Why do most drivers seem to prefer an inside mount as opposed to an outside mount?

EDIT: Lots of threads already discuss this (with videos!). DELETE!

Outside looks better. Most are taken inside for analyzing purposes (eg. where the car is on track, steering inputs, etc).

If you place it in the car, make sure you turn ON spot setting.
