I have been driving my F36 435 GC for around 4000 miles with the MPPK and MPE. I felt like although they made a subtle improvement on the car the changes from stock were very tame. This car is having to live in the shadow of my 335is and I had been disappointed in the job it was doing. While strikingly beautiful it just isn't (wasn't) the same animal.

Enter the JB4 Stage 1. I had contacted a few JB4 stage 1 sales reps and to a man they said I would really not gain anything over the MPPK with the addition of Stage 1. I really am not interested in doing any serious mods or splicing wires so I resigned myself to the car being what it is. Then my buddy bought a Jeep and his 435 got parked in the garage for the summer so he let me borrow his Stage 1.

Now I am not going by anything but my ears and my ass dyno but the car has become much more lively. My exhaust note seems to have changed for the much better and i can even hear the MPPK box sucking air now which was non-existent prior to the Stage 1. Car feels and sounds amazing. Even the wife asked if I had done "something different" while driving to dinner. It just seems more responsive and aggressive while also having a sweet rumble to the MPE which until now was a great disappointment. The back flow burbles are much more apparent now when decelerating.

So my question is what actually did the JB4 Stage 1 do that the MPPK wasn't doing already. I was lead to believe that it really didn't provide any tangible upgrades.

I think you should first find out if you MPPK was installed correctly. What do your sport gauges look like?

You don't need to splice wires for JB4 anymore with the new OBDII connectors, thats why i'm getting a jb4 finally after having stage 1.

They show the increased numbers.

@R_C_S_435i_GC , you can stack the BMS stage 1 on top if the MPPK. It wil bump up the boost.
I got a few customers stacking MPPK with RaceChip Ultimate, BMS Stage 1, or BMS JB4 Stage 2.

Adding a stage 1 or Jb4 over MPPK will add power.
JB stgae 1 targets higher boost numbers than the MPPK
