Forget the M3 vs 335 debate - Can an FBO 335 be any fun at the track?
The short answer? Absolutely.
(Make sure audio is up) Mods in sig below. External mic was placed in the engine bay to avoid all wind noise and capture the beautiful spooling. This was also the first day back on the track with the new M-Factory LSD and I could not be happier. The car would just squat and pull thru the carousel. And at 140k miles she ran like an absolute beast. I'll say much of it comes down to driver- and I'm far from a pro - but it was turning out considerably faster lap times than most of the other, very impressive cars at the track. Not bad for a street tire wearing, sticky wastegate, 6AT! **EDITED 9/17 & ADDED TO POST #44** For those who have PM'd me, here's the microphone I got for $25 shipped off of Amazon. Link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...4VVDPHQSA7KEVX Also used this 12' aux cable to connect the mic to the camera: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...Y7JWZB6RGRD2LN I've also been asked a lot about where I put the mic. I tucked it between the strut tower and the firewall and had ZERO issues with it moving around or with heat (pics below). I also ran the aux cable along the fender, thru the drivers door, and to wherever the camera was mounted **one disclaimer** make sure you check the audio on the camera before going out for a drive. There is an on/off switch on the mic that I did forget to turn on a few times **facepalm** Last edited by sirdaft1; 09-17-2015 at 10:58 PM.. |

335 + LSD = winning.
335s need to come standard with LSD.

Nitto NT05's and Koni Yellow's/Eibach Pro suspension setup
Thanks! Hitting 120ish in the two straights. As you can see, it's a super tight, brake heavy track with slower corner exiting speeds. |

Awesome video! The mic placement worked wonders. Didn't know you got a LSD, too. I'm scouring the boards for one as i can't swallow the $2k hit at the moment for a new one
Did you run into any oil temp issues? Last I tracked a 335i (not mine), it would hit limp mode after the oil temp climbed up repeatedly. What track was this at btw? edit: NVM, got it from the title of the video AND I should've just read your sig with regards to the oil temp question :P Last edited by dbworld4k; 06-05-2015 at 12:20 PM.. |

No temp issues w/ the ER Dual Setup. Ran 3 full 20 minute sessions in 75-80 degree temps and oil temps sat around 250-260 the entire time. My wastegates are starting to stick now though (140k on the original snails) so that was causing some erratic boosting and one switch to Map 4. Hopefully will have that addressed in the next 1-2 months. And this was run at Blackhawk Farms. Quote:
