Exhaust system suggestions
Hello,
I have a 2013 335i x-drive sedan, with the M package and I am looking to upgrade my exhaust system from the stock one I currently have. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on a good system to look into. My research so far ha taken me to magna flow and quicksilver, which BTW does not make a system for the 335. Thanks, Chris |

I'm having Borla S Type installed on Wednesday. Will let you know. Took forever to get. Guess Borla produces to order. Nobody stocks them. 6 weeks from order to delivery.

6 weeks? That's almost about as long as it takes to order, build, & ship a new car!

Had a Borla on my WRX. That was a nice piece of work, well thought out, cleared my OEM towbar, way lighter than OEM, and didn't look like a "racerboy" exhaust, way deeper too.

MPE if u want something just slightly louder than stock. Not overly loud, sounds a lot like the e92 335is sound. Also got a chance to hear the Borla Atak at bimmerfest and thats one awesome exhaust system as well.

A 6-week lead time may have something to do with them moving to a new location over the next couple/few weeks. My understanding is that they'd like to have a number of similar orders in hand to maintain efficiency in production.

Check out Active Autowerke..there down in Miami and have a great cat back exhaust...i just had it installed on my '13 335i msport and it's a huge improvement...not overly aggressive though, and very minimal drone on the highway

Happy with my MPE. Not sure how it is priced vs. other aftermarket exhausts. I've heard great sounds from the other vendors so it's all a matter of price and how loud you want to be.

If you have not heard our 335i Exhaust Suite, please give it a listen! We worked hard to craft a sophisticated sound. There's a great, smooth tone in the cabin, but no droning. Enhanced burbles and crackles will make your neighbors jealous, but won't annoy them through an obnoxious sound level. Our 180 Technology equipped resonators eliminate drone, and give you the ability to control tone with your right foot. Here is a video from snj49er |

Love my MPE, it does take awhile to break in, and seems to get better with age, The exhaust note is throatier now with 10K miles on it. Anyway, if you're after an exhaust with manners but still has some bark and growl and doesn't drone you will appreciate the MPE.
I'm about to add an AR catless, resonated downpipe, it will be interesting to hear the effect of the two combined. |

Depends on what kind of sound you are looking to get.
For a mild upgrade over stock without being too loud, get the Active Autowerke. For a louder exhaust Remus Axleback or catback are very good options. For a very aggressive tone, GTHaus is the best option. AWE is a very good option as well (video posted in the previous reply) Active Autowerke: GTHaus Meisterschaft:

Here is a video of my car with the AWE Exhaust with performance mid pipe. In this video I am also running the ER cat-less down pipe. I have been extremely impressed with this system. The sound is amazing and no drone at all. Please feel free to message me HERE with any questions you may have. |
