The good and the heartbreak
So finally I pulled the trigger on a mtech bumper from ebay and dropped it off to Tom over at coleman auto in Lawrenceville NJ. Working with him and his staff was amazing and I would recommend anyone in NJ to go to him.
Today I got the bumper installed and I was so excited. Perfect fitment and all. Now waiting on carbon fiber lip for it. Now for he heart break. Going to the gym I was waiting behind someone while she was about to turn left into a parking lane. But she decided to reverse and hit my car. I was so heated and broken up and now sad. Cops came and got info and she stated it was her fault. There was no way to avoid it since there was a car behind my up my butt so I couldn't reverse or move. There was enough space for her to reverse but she floored it. Now this is the result with hood that can't close, grill is broken and bumper scratched and I have to wait until Monday to make calls to shops. Tom if you see this, looks like I'm coming back. In the mean time anyone think I should go oem or look for different hood. So heated right now but nothing can be done =( thanks for listening!

Really sorry to see that but at least it's good that your bumper didn't get cracked and just has a minor scratch on it. Hopefully you get her fixed up real soon.
BTW, IMO you should stick with an OEM hood

Thanks! Ya I was debating to get a vented hood or stay with OEM. The hassle is just going through the insurance process and since it's Friday, I have to wait until Monday to get the word out to the shop.

damn that sucks. but at least you can go for a vented hood now and you didnt crack your bumper. Its still pain to leave your car at the shop esp since the weather is finally getting better.

Ya the bumper looks like it held, so will wait and see what the shop says when they take it off. Also the weather ugh, it's finally going to be in the 80s for us.

Sucks man, I had the same thing happen. Got a new bumper and had somebody back into me while parked the next day. Shit happens, at least her insurance is going to cover it.

No shit man!
I just had my hood fixed (similar damage to what you have) and bumper repainted over at Tommys place two weeks ago. Three days later someone ended doing a hit and run and scraped the shit out of my bumper in a parking lot. Now I'll be headed over there again next week. EDIT::: I would stick with an OEM hood, that might even be able to get repaired. I looked into going with a SEIBON CF hood but seemed to much of a headache with fitment, having catch pins installed etc. |

I'm sticking with OEM since I don't want fitment issues or out of pocket expenses honestly, since other persons at fault (she stated it directly to the cop) I'm not sure if I should go through my insurance or hers. I just want it to be fully fixed and paid for. I'm not looking to get the hood just fixed lol since I'm not at fault I rather have them replace it all together.
