interesting...but I don't think it will be 400+. The last TT-RS Plus was 360 and the current TTS has the same HP as the last generation TTS. I would expect about 375-385hp in the MK3 TT-RS.

The last TT-RS along with the Cayman R were the biggest competitors to the 1M do it looks like the next TT-RS and Cayman GTS will be the M2's natural competition again!

Terrific news! The introduction of competing superlative models will surely net much better products to the end users. Bring them on.

The right comparison should be with the rs3!

Old rs3 and ttrs had identical power output. So I expect the new ttrs to have 270kw/360hp

If the TTRS will look like anything like this..obviously a toned down version, i will take it over the m2

It's cool but I honestly don't like it. I hate the flares. I wish they were blended like M cars. The standard TTS flares are even worse.

i would take ttrs over a m2 even with less HP. Cant beat the nimbleness of smaller cars.

Yeah but no hideous hood line!
But no silky smooth inline 6, either.

First World Problems....
The Audi looks hot though!

The problem is, the driving style of the ttrs is just not as much fun to me as I expect the M2 will be, mostly due to the drivetrain layout. Audi is missing something that only BMW can capture in their small M cars.

I'm not sure I'd call the ttrs a smaller car than the 2 series... It weighs over 3300 lbs.

I'm leaning more towards a TT RS every minute. It'll probably weigh around 3300 pounds, have close to if not over 400 hp, and it could be pretty freaking nimble considering how compact a car it is.

A car like this takes the 2 seat Cayman off my list, and will be a pretty good competitor to the M2.

I understand where you're coming from, but I would be cautious with that statement.

It might be great car (I hope it will be), but Audi doesn't exactly have a perfect track record when it comes to driving dynamics – especially with cars based on their FWD platform.

I need to sit in another one. The last TT I checked out didn't have enough headroom, definitely not made for tall drivers.

I like the angles in the front. A bit subdued, cleaned up, would be a nice looking car. Prefer the look of the 2, especially how the M2 looks so far in disguise, but based on the fact I bought an M235i over a better looking 4 series, driving dynamics are important. Makes me wonder what this will feel like.

I'd rather get the Cayman than this personally.

I would really have to see a street version. I do dig the race version, but that is comparing it to the likes of the M235i race cars. The street version of the M235 looks looks nothing like that. And what price point is it going to be at? Probably more than an M2.

A trailer for the new Avengers movie coming out this summer teases to the new street version of the TT-RS; saw it during The Americans on FX this past week. You get only a couple of quick glimpses ...

... but man, those glimpses are SICK.
