His and Hers - 2007 E92 and E90

I spent some time cleaning my car up last night and took a picture when I was done. The wife and I are expecting our first child in September and I will be getting her a small SUV and her E90 will become my daily / kid car.

congrats on expecting! Love your e92. going to mod the e90 to your liking too? What are you thinking for an suv? what about getting her an x1 or x3?

man.. going from 430whp to under 200 will be tough on you!

Congrats, man!! My wife and I are in a similar boat. Both drive E90's and are expecting out first child in October. We plan on selling/trading hers in the next few months before it hits the 100K mark (it's at about 94k miles) and getting her into an SUV (X5 is wishful thinking, so probably something a little easier on the wallet).

My E90 isn't going anywhere, though! Especially since I was gifted a '98 Chevy C/K 1500 pickup (5.7L 350 V8) from my dad. I use that to give my 335i an occasional break and as the dog hauler.

What SUV's are you guys thinking? Our list is all over the place and looks something like this:
  • Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • Ford Escape
  • Ford Explorer
  • Kia Sorrento
  • Hyundai Santa Fe
  • Toyota Highlander
  • Honda CR-V

Ideally, to save a penny, we'll probably be looking at either CPO or left overs, with full factory warranty. We envision paying my car off soon after and only having one car payment to deal with. Sucks with the two car payments right now.

This.

My son was born Jan 29 and let me tell you.....the first 2 months are REALLY REALLY tough. If the baby is colicky, then add one more "REALLY" to that sentence.

hands down the jeep.. its the best bang for the buck and comes pretty much loaded for around 30k (laredo) and around 38 for the Limited. Both being the v6 and gets 24mpg. goodluck in your decision and starting your family.

Funny you say that, because that's probably #1 on my wish list and I think my wife feels the same way. The only hesitation I have is that my brother-in-law just bought one, but he too was encouraging us to look at them when car shopping. So I wouldn't be surprised to see us end up with the Jeep, in white, just like her E90. White or nothing for her!

And thank you very much for the well wishes, much appreciated!

I want to get her something bigger than an I3. Not to mention they are ugly!

I won't put any money into the E90. It's going to be my "beater" LOL

Yeah my commute to and from work is pretty traffic heavy. I have almost 90k miles on my E92 so it will be nice to keep the miles down but when I get it out . In a couple of years I am going to look into getting an F80 M3.

Thanks! I'm ready mentally (at least I think I am) but haven't prepared the room or anything. My man cave is going to become the baby cave

I would like a Q5 or X3. She likes the Infiniti's.

I like the X3 but my wife hasn't been much of a fan of her BMW. She doesn't need "an ultimate driving machine" since she drives like an 80 year old woman. She also runs into stuff like an old woman.

I'm not going to do anything to it. Maybe 162 wheels but that would be it.
