Big thanks to Unexpected Creations
I was looking to add a sub and amp to my already updated system in my E90.
Normally I shy away from shops, based solely on bad experiences I've had in the past. Which is why I did the original upgrade myself. It wasn't perfect, but at least I knew what was going on in the car. Anyway, the time had come to add a sub, I originally installed an aftermarket head unit, processor, front speakers and underseats. It sounded decent but it was missing something. The Jehnerts I installed under the seats worked great as midbasses but didn't provide the bass I was looking for. I'm not a basshead, I just needed to have those lower frequencies covered. After much research I decided on an IB install. The only problem was I suck at any fabrication! (right Eric!!) So I knew if I wanted this done I would be forced to go somewhere to get it done. That's when I made the best decision in this whole process. I contacted Don at Unexpected. From the beginning, I knew that I was in good hands. He was quick to answer emails. Answering any questions I had. Giving advice based on what I was looking to get out of my system, instead of just looking to sell me something and send me on my way. The whole process start to finish was a pleasure. The guys, Don, Eric and Scott worked their asses off to get it done on my schedule. Not too mention the work was meticulous, neat and top notch. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get something done in their cars, big or small. I know where I'll be going for any future work. Anyway I ended up not only getting the the sub and amp. But I also ended upgrading the audiocontrol DQXS with a Helix DSP, my front CDT CL-42 with Jehnert mids and tweeters, which are being run fully active, in addition to the Match amp to run the Dynaudio MW 190 that the guys mounted to the rear deck. Which by the way sounds and looks awesome. Big thanks to the guys at Unexpected Creations! |

Yeah I'll get some pics of the sub. It looks good. And sounds even better. It's a smaller sub not really for spl more of an Sq sub. So it's barely visible from the trunk unless you crouch down and look for it. I'll get a pic up tomorrow.

Danny, thank you, a ton, for this post ! It really means a lot. Completely our pleasure bud. We had some changes to the original plan and some tidying up of the former but glad you are happy !

I would like to know how the front wave travels through the multi-layer rear deck, that does not have many openings from the factory, without much restriction, and without making the deck vibrate/rattle like crazy.

when you can only see it while crouching, it's stealth. standing and looking into the trunk, you can't see it.
we perforated the rear deck and re-wrapped it so that it "breaths". there are no rattles.
